Automatically copying Outlook calendar entries

Q: Automatically copying Outlook calendar entries

I have one of our heads that needs his calendar entries if they are added/deleted or updated to automatically be copied to his aid's calendar. Do any of you know what code you would use to do this?

I have the syntax for copying the entry to another public folder but am wondering if anyone has a mock up of what the destination code would like to copy it to another mailbox via VBA?

Here is what I use for the public folder, which works fine right now:

csFolderPath = "Public Folders\All Public Folders\Shared
Calendars\"Calendar Name"

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Ok.. not sure how to exactly word this so please be patient

I had a users XP system crash. I had backed up their complete mailbox, calender, contacts to a .pst file. I reloaded the OS , set outlook 2003 back up and reimported. I went to import just the calendar into their current calendar. Ok.. so the appointments show up! 2 minutes later they vanish.

It allows me to import the .pst as a whole into personal folders and there they have a second calendar but thats not my goal. They dont want that. They want the calendar entries in their current calendar.

We are running exchange 2003 with postfix as a relay. Not sure this has anything to do with the actual server but im lost at this point for an explination!

Thanks

Hi,

Thought I would say hi first as I'm now here.

I have been looking at thread 541487 and I was wondering if it could be expanded to cover a couple of items:

1. Check for duplicate entries already in Outlook, or maybe to set a flag against each row once created in Outlook (The spreadsheet I'm using will be continuously added to)

2. If a column has a an AD username to check the username against the calendar being created in and to only create items that match

I have attached an example.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Any ideas of how to copy checkbox data from Outlook 10 Calendar to Excel?

I created a large number of custom controls in Outlook Calendar. These include a number of checkboxes. I created a custom view with all of the fields (it's in list format so it looks like a spreadsheet). I used CTRL-A and CTRL-C to select all and copy. When I pasted into Excel none of the checkbox controls transferred. Everything else is there. I tried the same thing with Access with the same results.

Hey all,
I recently installed outlook 2007 on a new computer and imported all my saved information from a backup file from my previous computer. Outlook created a new calendar with all my saved information on it, in the same folder as the main calendar. Since the default/main calendar cannot be deleted, I want to copy all the information from the imported calendar to the main one (and then delete the imported one).

If anyone knows how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated. My attempts to search online have thus far been futile.

Thanks again!

network the two system or copy the file (by any means) to the new system.

If I enter an appointment on the native calendar app it is not pushing these appointments to other devices or even the browser outlook.com calendar view. Should it be doing so? It works the other way around. So if I enter an appointment on my phone (iOS) using the outlook setup on the calendar it does push the appointment to the calendar app on Windows 10. Just not other way round!

A:Mail and calendar app not pushing calendar entries to other devices

Ok, correction - it does work. Just took a while to push them out. About 30 minutes to come through. Pretty slow but at least it did it. Maybe servers are slow although I'm sure it's pretty instant the other way round !

Two of our users are experiencing duplicate calendar entries for reoccuring as well as single appointments. These are 'all day' entries, for example, reoccuring birthdays or deadlines entered into the top 'grey area' of the date. The appointment has duplicated itself to the following day, causing 2 instances. This has started happening for appointments that are towards the end of March only. Any ideas? Thanks, Skyie

What could be the cause of the sudden appearance of unauthorized entries to my Google Calendar? I've had two lately, and they appear to be typical spam e-mail which has somehow found it's way into my calendar. I noticed they both had a question mark in the upper righthand corner instead of the usual "X."

I use the Calendar that comes with Windows Live Mail.

I have entries going back to the start of WLM (many years) and would like to delete them

I know how to delete the entries one by one, including all the subsequent entries but
that will take a very long time.

Hopefully there is a way to do it.

I'm trying to help a friend who has just installed Office 2016 on her computer, which was recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10.

She's been using Outlook.com and has accumulated a fair amount of email, contacts and calendar appointments. I've managed to get her email to show up by adding it to Outlook 2016 as a POP3 account. I was able to import her contacts into Outlook 2016 from a file called OutlookContacts.csv. Now I'm trying to get her calendar with all its many calendars and appointments into Outlook 2016.

I'm not sure why but the appointments all show up just fine in Mail and Calendar for Windows 10, even though we did nothing to put them there (as far as we know). But she'd like them to appear when she clicks on the Calendar in Outlook 2016 and I can't find any information on how to do that. I've also looked for some kind of Export function in the Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 app but I came up empty.

How do I get her calendar into Outlook 2016?

I can't be the only one who finds Microsoft *awful* at documenting this kind of basic functionality. Millions of people must have tried to do the same thing before me but if there's any information out there on how to do this, it has eluded me so far....

A:Export calendar from Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 to Outlook 2016?

You can manually export calendars from Outlook.com using a round-a-bout method I posted at this link. However, I don't think that's going to help you because what you really want to do is set up Outlook 2016 so that her email, calendar and contacts sync with (and stay in sync with) her Outlook.com account.

Therefore, instead of setting email up as a POP account and then importing calendar, contacts, etc. separately, why not just setup Outlook 2016 to work with her Outlook.com account? I haven't done it with Outlook 2016, only older Outlook versions that used Hotmail Connector, however the following instructions for Outlook 2016 seem fairly straight forward.

If she has two-factor authentication switched on for her Outlook.com account, then you may need to generate an app password from her Outlook.com account, and use that as the password instead of the actual Microsoft Account password.

The Basics
Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked ? the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.
My Problem
Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected ? or maybe not quite as expected. I?ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven?t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.
Very strange. Anybody know what?s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.

The goal is to have the company-wide calendar download to a Blackberry Curve as the user's default calendar. Right now he sees his own calendar which he does not need. We have the Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on his network computer.

Hello everybody,
my online outlook calendar does not sync with my Windows Calendar app. I am talking about the online calendar which can be accessed after sign-in here: Prihláste sa do svojho konta Microsoft which for me used to always take all the information from my desktop calendar app, and vice-versa, when I entered an event online, it also appeared in my desktop app. This was useful for syncing with my phone and generally accessing my calendar when not having my laptop on me. This is now impossible for me to do.

Now they don't sync and it's quite annoying, I am getting desperate and thinking of using some other app (if you have tips, tell me. I went through this: Resolve sync issues in Mail and Calendar apps in Windows 10 - Office Support it did not solve the problem. I have updates on (I apply them manually). I have Windows 10 all up to date. and all settings allow calendar to be synced. I checked if I am signed in to the same account, I only have one account in the app and the same one online.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Also, I am adding a picture if it helps, on the left is my calendar, when I access it online, on the right is my Windows App. You can clearly see that there is a lot more on the right. I just want the events to appear in the online calendar as well, as they did before...

Server Info: Lotus Notes 6.5
I'm not sure if I can make this clear enough to understand, so I will appoligize now.

We have a user who recently noticed that a recurring meeting request will show in his calendar only for those that have replied to the request. His orig calendar entry is not showing, but there are, lets say 5 people that have been invited, it will show 5 "accepted" meetings in his calendar.

The first time he noticed this was earlier this week when we were experiencing other server issues. When he closed lotus and reopened it was fine. Then yesterday it did it again showing only the accepted requests, and not the orig.

We are 3 companies within a short distance to each other, and hope to soon have all 3 running the email off 1 server, which is currently running Notes 7, rather than 6.5.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have been using Outlook 2003 for many years then upgraded to 2007, which I've used for years.

Typically I would enter appointments into my calendar in my Outlook 2007 and sync that with my phone....the blueberry or iPhone 3GS....I upgraded to the iPhone4 and have put appointments into my iPhone and synced my iPhone using iTunes (which normally syncs my Outlook calendar as well).

However, I've noticed recently some appt's put into my phone were not showing up on my Outlook Calendar....more snooping and I've just tonight discovered I have another calendar named iSync-Calendar.ics! Well, that's where many of my missing appointments were found!!

So I look closer at my iPhone4 and go to settings>calendar> and look for my default calendar which is iSync-Calendar.ics!!!

I am assuming that somehow that got switched, but used to be "calendar" which was outlook.

I am hoping this doesn't happen in the future..but for now I'm displaying both Calendar and iSync-Calendar.ics on Outlook so I can see all my appointments!!

Glad I caught that tonight as I have double and tripled booked some time slots in the future not seeing them on my iPhone since default calendar was iSynch and NOT calendar and vice versa!!!

Do you think I corrected the problem? Can I sync the iSync appts into or import them into my Calendar??

I have to develop a system between two companies so tha one of the companies can see the others demand over the web. the company were most of the information will be coming from does not have 24 internet access but the other company does. really I want the database to reside at the company which is generating most of the information. Is it possible to automate the copying process so the database can be copied to a web folder on a regular basis! If not has anyone any suggestions on what I might be able to do? I would be very grateful for any help.

James

A:Automatically copying db

Is the answer, well it might be! It all really depends on a whole host of things, what database is being used in both companies and what kind of connectivity between the two can be established. If for example they are both using SQL server and you can establish a connection between the two systems, perhaps by setting up a VPN between the two which will help in protecting the security of the data being transferred then you can easily set up replication by schedule to transfer the appropriate information from the source company to the destination. Then of course you have to figure out where to put it so that the destination company can handle it.

These are just ideas at this stage as without knowing a whole lot more about the scenario it is difficult to give a precise answer. In fact you may not get a "perfect" answer in a forum such as this one as there are so many variables that need to be taken into account when designing such a solution.

So, this is about the integration between the two, of course. I have added the WL feed to OC and it appears there. Every task appears as an "all day" event. Then I uncheck the "all day" box, enter the respective time and make my schedule. And then, I guess at the next refresh from the WL feed, all events are back to "all day" :( Does anybody know how to deal with this? Or any reasonable way to put WL tasks into a(ny) calendar without having to jump through hoops? Thanks in advance!

I've had a persistent problem for several months since I migrated to a new hard drive. Outlook 2010 calendar is working, but only in Active List view. Any attempt to change to Preview or Calendar view produces the error message, "Could not read the calendar." Changing from Active List to List works some of the time, but inconsistently and sometimes it will hunt for the list and offer the same "Could not read the calendar." error message. This is very frustrating as I find it difficult to manage the list view and am accustomed to seeing the calendar week view.

I have tried adding the Google calendar to Outlook but it is a duplicate of the default calendar and I can't set it as the default. Also, MS Office does not permit me to delete the default calendar.

I don't like any of the work arounds. I just want the calendar to work like it should. Research discloses no real hint of anything that works including running scanpst. Scanpst does a great job at fixing the problem by wiping the whole calendar thanks very much MS.

Hi there! I'm creating an access database for our company's mailing list.

I have two fields in my form named ID1 and ID2. When I create a new record, I would like Access to copy the information from ID1 into the ID2 field, and add three letters to the beginning of the data.

In other words, if ID1 is "123" i would like ID2 to automatically be generated as "RTC123".

ID1 is an autonumber field if that makes a difference.

Is this possible to do? How would I go about making it happen?

Thanks!

A:Access 2003: Copying data automatically from one column to another

Hello, if the data is already in column 1 then you can use an update query to transfer the data to column 2.
If the data in column 1 is to be entered in a form then the transfer can be made as the data is entered.
Which way do you need to do it?
Or do you need to do it both ways.
Also why do you need to store the data like that if it can be created and displayed like it at any time?

I just went to my Google Calendar a few minutes ago, only to discover that all of my entries have disappeared! Is it somehow possible to get them back? I did a System Restore, although I figured that wouldn't work -- and it didn't.

Earlier this evening I ran CCleaner and I wonder if somehow that would've inadvertently erased my calendar entries. I've run it in the past and never had this problem. (I also ran SpySweeper, SpywareBlaster, AdAware, and my AV program, although I don't believe they would have caused this problem.)

I've lost several months worth of entries that I really would like to get back! I hope that someone will be able to tell me how. Thank you.

We are using Exchange Server 2010.

Some staff are using Outlook 2007. They are creating calendars which need to be shared with other employees, most of which are running only Outlook 2003.

All Outlook 2003 users get an email with a link to Microsoft explaining how to open shared calendars. Off07 users get the icon to click and open specified calendar.

Outlook 2003 user then follows MS instructions, and pulls up the Outlook 2007 user's default calendar, then they get this message "Unable to display the folder. The Calendar folder could not be found".

Is there something lacking here? Anyone have any work-a-rounds for Outlook 2003 users to open a shared calendar of an Outlook 2007 user?

We are using Exchange Server
Some staff in our executive branch have brand new laptops (lucky guys) with Office 2007[Of07]. They are creating calendars which need to be shared with other employees, most of which are running only Outlook 2003 [OL03].

Calendar(s) are made, and invites sent for specific calendars to specific groups of users.
IE: Regional Sales Mgr. creates several supplemental "events" calenders he wants to share with his different teams.
Calendars:
---Default, Corporate, Dist1, Dist2, Dist3, Region
Group:
---DistGrp1, DistGrp2, DistGrp3
Permissions:
---Dist1 calender --> DistGrp1
---Dist2 calendar --> DistGrp2
---Dist3 calendar --> DistGrp3
---Region --> DistGrp1, DistGrp2, DistGrp3

All OL03 users get an email with a link to Microsoft explaining how to open shared calendars. Off07 users get the icon to click and open specified calendar.

OL03 user then follows MS instructions, and pulls up the Off07 user's default calendar, with no option to open or even locate any other calender.

Is there something lacking here? Anyone have any work-a-rounds for OL03 users to open a shared calendar (other than the default or main calendar) of an OFF07 user?

Thank you.

I am trying to merge several years' worth of calendar items into a single new PST file for archiving, but when I try to copy many of my calendar items I get this error:
"Outlook cannot copy the items. The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found"

Using advice elsewhere I tried creating and using a new mail profile, but now Outlook just hangs when I try to open one of my existing PST files (the item pane just displays "loading...").

Can anyone advise re. why I might be getting this error when copying calendar items from one folder/PST file to another?

I'm running Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 64-bit in a home environment (using Gmail/POP3).

Hi I am trying to move one pst file from one laptop which has Outlook 2010 32 bit to another laptop which has Outlook 2010 64 bit installed,
steps taken
1) Copied the pst file from the User/AppData/Microsoft/Outlook folder to usb.
2) Pasted the file from usb into User/Documents folder.
3) Tried to open the file in Outlook and I get the error that Outlook encountered errors while opening the file.
Now how is that possible when the file is working perfectly in one laptop but when I copy and paste it into another it gets corrupted? Is it due to 32 bit to 64 bit outlook? I tried to repair it using scanpst and it brought back few mails, so what else can I do? Am I doing something wrong in moving the file.
Thanks a lot

I tried to ask this question in another section but did not get much feed back. Perhaps this is a better section.
Some months ago I upgraded my Win 8.1 Surface Pro 3 to Win 10 and decided to start using Microsoft One Drive including my Lumia 950. I had always used POP 3 accounts in Outlook and followed the guidance from this website to establish an Outlook exchange Active x account. This successfully established the email (2) account and things seem to have transferred successfully. While I do not use the email(2) account and it is not my defaut account, it remains in the outlook home screen, which is not just distracting, it appears to somehow get selected as the email account and gets used accidentally. In addition, the contacts and calendar are duplicates. Calendar not so bad, as I can select which one to show and use, but it remains, but the contacts are actively duplicate which is always causing an issue.
How can I eliminate this duplication and suppress the 2nd. email account?
To clarify, I have office installed and am using Outlook, not the mail app. I do not believe the approach suggested will work.

A:Duplicate entries in outlook

I remember seeing your post, I can't remember what reply I gave.
I have outlook 2016 installed and I just added my account. Now in options > people - there's an option for show duplicate contacts - I don't know if that changes anything?
I get the feeling I relied the same way last time and honestly I'm trying to help but I don't have much experience with the outlook program.
I would suggest you contacting MS chat support and explaining the issue to them. From my own expereience, they are very helpful

Hi,

I've got a user whose computer had a CD-ROM drive button missing. Thus we gave her a different one to use since we have that one under warranty. However, the user complains that her autocomplete entries are not showing up when she goes to type in an email address in Outlook 2003.

So I followed this path:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

and copied the NK2 file from her old PC to her new one. When that didn't work I copied the entire contents of this location into the appropriate place on her new PC but that also didn't work.

Is there something else I need to port over? Another file maybe?

Also we did restart Outlook and PC etc. and it did not fix the issue.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

at outlook.com i have shared the calendar to two emails that are setup using outlook 2016 but i click on the accept option in the email and it says the link has expired even if i do it withing seconds of receiving the email.

any ideas how i can edit the calendar using outlook 2016? thanks!

I'm running Outlook 2000 and it's working fine. The problem I'm having is that I have a distribution list that I use often and sometimes I want to remove one or two names from that list when sending a group email. I can't find a way of removing those names from the address list for one instance; when I remove the names, they are permanently removed and I have to re-enter them back in the address book the next time I use.

Is there a way of removing names from the Outlook address book for one instance without having the names permanently removed from the list?

Thanks,

Blindy8

A:Outlook address book entries

The functionality that your asking for is actually part of the Outlook 2003 where you can crate a "distribution group" from a group of contacts thus removing a contact from the group still leaves you the original contact. The problem is Outlook 2000 does not have this feature of making a "distribution group" when you make a subfolder in outlook address book its just another contact list not a true "distribution group".

There is ONE option. This is to move the user off the contact list your using to sending everyone the email to another list. Then send it. Then move the user back if you need to.

Hey all..

I am running Win2k with Office XP(upgraded from Office 2000). When I click the address book icon on the menu bar, I have 2 Contact lists listed. The first one(which opens by default) gives an error message saying the file is missing or I don't have permissions to open it(I do, I tried logging in as Admin and logging in as the user). I can click OK and then select the second Contact list, and that opens fine.

I don't see any other wierdness anywhere else, but I would like to get that error message taken care of. Also, when I click Contacts from the side menu bar, that works like it should...no error messages.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

Go to the top of the page and select the button for Folder List. In the list you will either see multiple Contacts folders listed under your profile, or there is another profile that is corrupted and is not needed. I would suggest making a backup of your .spt file, deleting the suspect contacts folder and everything should be fine. If you delete the wrong contacts folder, just import it again from the saved.pst file.

I have MS Outlook 2007 under Vista using a couple of PSTs and a few IMAP folders. One PST is 150 MB and has a Contacts file with a few entries that after opening have become corrupted (I believe) and no longer open. This folder does not get email (POP or IMAP directly though I occasionally move a few emails in here). I can see the contact entry but clicking on it does not open it. Other entries open fine. I believe a few entries have disappeared as well. It is a big source of concern to lose contacts like this. Ran Scanpst, rebuilt indexes and created a new PST file into which I moved my old contacts but this has not solved the problem. The problem has continued over from my old laptop to my new laptop. Any idea what I should do? Are Scanpst etc always effective?

Hi guys,

similar problem over here with additional, multiple menu entries in outlook 2000.

The problem in detail:

Step 1: I delete "outcmd.dat", "extend.dat" and "FRMCACHE.DAT".

Step 2: I start outlook -> everything is normal.

Step 3: I open any folder from the folder list -> a second "Adobe PDF" (from Acrobat 7.0) menu appears on the left side.

Step 4: I close outlook -> outlook crashes.

Step 5: I start outlook again -> 2 "Adobe PDF" menu items appear on the right side.

Repeating steps 3 - 5 add additional "Adobe PDF" menues.

Closing outlook without opening any folder before does not add any menu entry. In this case, outlook closes without crash.

Hope, anyone can help me...

Best regards,
mmatzing

Several weeks ago I was invited to an event this past weekend as were several hundred other people. I was not planning to attend the event. On Saturday I was doing my weekly system housekeeping, and I went to my Outlook Calendar and I canceled the event. Evidently my personal cancellation went back to everyone else who had been on the original invitation and was perceived as a cancellation of the event. I have been lambasted all over the place because I "canceled the event". What did I do wrong, and am I correct that it was basically a perception issue by those receiving my personal cancellation and somehow thinking that I had canceled the event? Help?

When I try to import entries from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail, this also does not work perhaps because the function sees the entries and does not duplicate them - I have specified the option avoiding duplication. In Windows 7, hitting the Windows key would bring up a search field, just as it does in Windows 10. Included in the search results would be matching entries from Microsoft Outlook 2010 (contacts, tasks, e-mail, etc. that contain the search string). Now in Windows 10 the search results do not include anything from Outlook. In order to find something in Outlook , I have to search for it from within Outlook.

Looking at the Indexing Options, I see "Microsoft Office Outlook" listed among the included locations. I have deleted and rebuilt the index a couple of times, but still nothing from Outlook ever appears in Windows Search. Wondering if some indexing feature has been disabled, I went to the Control Panel and looked into "Turn Windows features on or off." Unlike in previous versions of the OS, I could find no option for turning on or off Windows Search or Indexing.

Whenever I search for something in "My stuff", the results window displays this message: "These results may be incomplete, search is still indexing your stuff." Yet, when I pull up Indexing Options, it shows "Indexing complete." Is there something I have missed, or is Search seriously broken in Windows 10?

I have a user who accesses her boss's calendar in Outlook (Outlook 2000 and Exchange Server 2000) by going File>>Open>>Other user's folder. She's been using it this way for months and months with no problem. She has it open almost all day as she very much manages her boss's calendar.

She just informed me that occaionally a reminder for a meeting or appointment will pop up on her screen. She'll check her own calendar and see nothing there. She checks her boss's calendar and there is the meeting or appointment she's being reminded about. This happens occasionally, not with all items in the calendar that have a reminder set. She said this hasn't happened before.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on here? Since it's infrequent and seemingly random (from the end user's POV) I think it's going to be hard if not impossible to figure out. The good thing is that it's not so big a problem that she feels it has to be fixed. She can live with it but would like it to stop if possible. Any ideas?

OL03 user then follows MS instructions, and pulls up the Off07 user's default calendar, with no option to open or even locate any other calender.

Is there something lacking here? Anyone have any work-a-rounds for OL03 users to open a shared calendar (other than the default or main calendar) of an OFF07 user?

Thank you.

Does anyone know how to get a calendar into Outlook 6? My OS is Windows 98.
Thanks.

A:No calendar in Outlook Express 6

The calendar comes with Outlook and is not in Outlook Express. You will have to get Office or buy Outlook to get the calendar.

I think I already know the answer but I would like to verify...

I have a user (we'll call her User 1) that has access to another user's (we'll call him User 2) mailbox and calendar. User 1 has User 2's mailbox and calendar set up already in Outlook. So User 1 has their own mailbox/calendar and I went in to User 1's Outlook on their computer, went to their calendar, and used the "Open Calendar - From Address Book" to add User 2's calendar to User 1's Outlook. User 1 can see all of User 2's calendar items (appointments, meetings, etc).

My question: Is there any way to set Outlook to remind User 1 of any of User 2's calendar items? For example, User 2 has a meeting at 2:00 today. User 1 can now see that but is there a way to have that pop up on User 1's computer as a reminder (just like how User 1's reminders pop up on their own computer when Outlook is running)?

My outlook calendar is replicating meetings on it's own! I go in and delete them but they just keep coming back. What would cause this program to randomly pick a meeting and then enter it in over 50 times and how can I stop this?

I cannot access my calendar. I have no problems with my inbox. I have an ipaq that says that it syncs with my calendar and am able to pull up schedules thru that, but not on my desktop. I tried uninstalling Office 2000 and reinstalling it, and get the same problem, my application just freezes up and never loads. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out.

Welcome to TSG!

Be sure that your settings are correct for your server type. And check that outlook is your default calendar program.
Internet properties on the programs tab.

My Calendar is in a real mess and I cannot find how to edit it, at the least to delete the mass of replicated entries. Clicking on them achieves nothing. I see the Calendar in Mail and Outlook but cannot find the editing settings described in an Office article. I am not sure I am getting the Navigation Pane, I certainly don't find the settings it is supposed to have.

I have never got on well with Outlook and have tried to avoid it, hence using Thunderbird instead of Outlook Mail and never making much sense of People instead of the more obvious Address Book or Contacts. I always thought that Windows Live Mail was far superior, but some people have even found it missing after the upgrade. But now I am trying to mend my ways and get on top of Outlook, Mail, etc. which does seem quite central to the Windows 10 experience..

By the way, I thought Calendar was supposed to sync with my Lumia phone? It hasn't done, I am glad to say --- at least for the present.

A:Help needed with Outlook and Calendar

I have just found a site, How-To-Outlook. Little of it made sense. In particular a page of keyboard shortcuts to Outlook functions: Ctrl 1, 2, 3 and so on. None of them worked (or did anything). I felt I was working at an alien computer yet there were reference to Windows 10, so something should have been familiar.I don't think I will get anything of use from that site but would like to know why everything is so unfamiliar, including keyboard actions.

In outlook if you go to tools > option > preferences > calendar options > add holidays

You are suppose to be able to add standard holidays to your calendar (christmas, thanksgiving, etc) however when I added, it said everything was successful however I don't see any holidays in my calendar.

Are there some kind of filters that are preventing me from seeing anything? Default doesn't let you see holidays?

I try to update my calandar using the tools feature. It doesn't synch. It used to, but now just opens the dialog box and nothing. I can't find any other settings. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thx,

A:ACT to Outlook Calendar synch

I'd check for any activities in Outlook that might be there from ACT! and got stuck... actually, I'd really recommend upgrading from 7.0 to 10.0
