Hi Spargus

Check to see if AutoArchive is running.
Tools > Options > Other tab > AutoArchive button

If AutoArchive is enabled there will be a check mark in: Run AutoArchive every XX days
There will also be a directory path showing the location of the archive.pst file where archived items have been moved.

If this is the case, the archive.pst file can be connected to Outlook 2007 enabling you to view the contents.
File > Open > Outlook Data File
Browse to the location of the archive.pst file and select it, the archive.pst file should then appear in Outlook 2007.
Let us know what you find.

I would like to have a VBA procedure run when the data in a form has changed, but I can't seem
to find the appropriate event from which to call the procedure. The form in question is a
subform (tab) in the Main form and also contains several subforms. Each subform refers to
budget information for a given year. I can't put the procedure call in the code for any of
the yearly subforms as there may be several changes in each and the procedure shouldn't be run
until all the changes are complete.
Ideally the event would fire when:
--the user switches to another tab in the top level form
--another cost centre is chosen to modify - this is done either by selecting the cost centre
from a comboBox in the Main form or selecting it via a TreeView (another subform in the main
form)
What I have tried so far:
I have put MsgBoxs in various event procedures to see when they are triggered, but they don't
all behave as I would expect.
LostFocus - doesn't fire because there are subforms with active controls
DeActivate - ditto, I think
Unload or Close - almost correct, but if changes are made to several cost centres, it will
only run the procedure for the last one
Current - I thought I could use this to for when the cost centre changes, but this fires
several times before the form is even visible and then a few times more (maybe when subforms
are loaded - not sure)
There is a TextBox which changes to reflect if a different costCentre has been selected, but

I am trying to create a form that i send to another user to start a chain of approvals on a process. he fills in some of the data, then sends it to the next guy in the chain, he fills in his approval, then sends it to the next guy, who then approves it, and then send it to the final guy for processing of the information. This set of emails will be going to an outside company and then back.

Can I do this without info-path?

Anyone have any advice for it?

I was able to easily do this using Outlook 2003, but I cannot figure it out in 2007.

When creating a new contact, I used to be able to adjust a Blank Contact the way I wanted it... Phone numbers in this order:

Mobile
Home
Business
Business fax

And have the Address defaulted towards Home, and automatically check the box This is the mailing address

I would pre-populate all those fields, and then use the Publish as form. In 2007, they took away the Publish As form from adding a New contact, and I just don't know how to change things using the Design Form mode that we must use in 2007 now.

Any help?

Instead of using the contact form in Outlook 2007, I would like to link the information that I already have in an Access Database to Outlook so that I could use the Outlook calendar for scheduling appointments. I remember that Office 2000 did that, but I can't find how to do this anywhere in 2007.

Does anyone have an easy way? Or is there an "easy" way to add a schduling calendar to Access?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, welcome to the board!

In your new form, are your controls mapped to the correct field names? If so, they should already populate with the data. Or am I missing something? What additional fields did you add? I'm not sure what you mean by just "adding additional fields". Can you give us some more detail as to what you've done, what behavior you're seeing, and what behavior you want to be seeing?

The Basics
Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked ? the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.
My Problem
Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected ? or maybe not quite as expected. I?ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven?t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.
Very strange. Anybody know what?s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.

My contacts are displayed in a form that looks different from the form that I was used to in previous versions of Outlook. In this form the Notes text box is moved over to the right and an automatically generated image of
a business card is displayed above it. Looking at properties for my contacts folder the form used is IPM.Contact, the standard Contacts form in all versions of Outlook.

I need to add one extra field onto this form. When I attempt to design this form it loads as the old style Outlook form with the Notes text box across the bottom and no control for the business card.

I have also tried adding a new contact which automatically opens the new form and while I have this form open, I select Developer > Design this Form but as soon as the form designer is loaded the form appears in the old style.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm creating an email form in Outlook 2007, and I'd like to create default "to:" and "cc:" values. However, when I'm looking at the Message tab under "Edit Compose Page", the "last, first" format is rejected when I type in an address. Likewise the [email protected] format. When I alternately go to the (All Fields) tab and try to edit the Field Properties for "To", the dialog box is grayed out.

I'm guessing I'm going about this the wrong way, and I'm hoping that this is something I'm able to do. Is there another way to do this?

Hi Guys
This is my first post in this forum, of hopefully many more. I'm an IT Manager in Johannesburg South Africa.

I would like to know if it's possible to send a mailer to all staff members from Outlook with a form format.

It should have drop down menus, and a comment bar for problems experienced.

What my aim is, is to get feedback from staff on the applications they are using with a rating plus a comment box for each related topic.

If someone could guide me on how this goes I'm sure I will figure it out.

Thanks

Hi, I work in a small business and I want eveyone to put their outlook contacts in a public folder so we can create a shared contact database. I then want to do e-mail merge selectively. My idea is to create a new field (or modfiy a user defined field) with a dropdown list so that people could consistently categorise their contacts before sharing them e.g. prospect, customer, reseller etc. Can anyone tell me how to amend the standard contact form and then publish it so everyone can use it as their standard contact form without having to 'reload' all their contacts?

Alternatively, is there a better way of achieving the end result? The attraction of this approach is that the mail merge program allows for boolean operators to be used on any field in the record so we could select all contacts with User Field 1 = to 'customer' for example, it also allows multiple selection criteria.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

A:Customising contact form in Outlook 2007

I don't recommend using exchange for a marketing database, especially if the company is very large. You will be constantly limited, importing and exporting data. Users will have thier grandmothers, poker buddies and and ex wives information in Contacts. Build a marketing database in Access or something. Then you can easily do reports and sort and all kinds of things people will want. You can initally populate it with contacts and build from there and 'push' information to public folders from the database.

Bottom line is Exchange main function is to enhance communications, trying turn it into an enterprise solution is a bad starting point.

Just my opinion. Your experience may vary...

My Outlook has just started sending all my emails directly into my Deleted Items folder and bypasses the Inbox. I have run 3 anti-virus scans (Avast, Malwarebytes, and Spybot--thorough scans). They found no viruses.

I did go and create a rule for a couple of contacts for them to go into the Inbox. Now they go into the Inbox and the Deleted Items folder.

A:Outlook automatically sends email to Deleted Items folder

Couple questions.

1) Are you using Full Outlook or Outlook express?
2) Do the times in the deleted folder have any weird tagging on them (in the subject line)?
3) Is this connecting to an exchange server (like at work) or are you just using this for personal emails. (ie what email address are you getting email on )
4) do you remember any thing that you did recently in changing settings/ installing any new software, etc. . .

Hi there,

For a while I've been using Windows Live Mail, on Vista. It worked well for ages, but has recently refused to send mail. After giving up on fixing it, I set up Outlook instead. Same settings and accounts as WLM, a couple IMAP accounts and one HTTP (Hotmail account). Works fine, only problem is that Outlook doesn't automatically retrieve mail. I've set it so that it runs send/receive once a minute, which is okay, but I would rather emails come through when they're actually sent. My main qualm, however, is that even when send/receive is run, there is no notification for new mail. No popup message in the corner, no change in the tray icon, nothing. I just have to keep checking it, which is annoying.

Anyway to fix those two issues?

At the office, my work email receives emails when they're sent, and a popup box appears in the lower left corner. We run an Exchange server there, so mayhap that makes a difference.

Thanks!

A:Outlook 2007 - Automatically receive email

Actually I've just found that it does indeed have a new icon in the tray upon the receipt of a new message. So the 1 minute send/receive doesn't really bother me.

So I guess this can be closed now. Thanks!

Hi
My mom has multiple accounts in Outlook 2007.

Her personal account and the account she uses for our little orchestra to send sheet music.

Is it possible to make that in each subject automatically is [SHEETMUSIC] or something like that? Or automatically make the message line in the inbox yellow or something? She just wants to see quickly that it's a confirmation for a received part.

Thx!

Martin

A:Automatically add subject line in Outlook 2007?

It is not clear to me - you are trying to sort incoming messages or outcoming.

To add specific subject line for newly created messages your mom can create a template and save that template whereever she wants or pin it somewhere and open template when she needs it.
In template you can predefine whatever you want - recepients, subject lines, text, appearance.
Send an e-mail message based upon a template - Outlook - Office.com
How to Create a Template in Outlook 2007 | eHow.com

To sort incoming message, you can assign Rules to message and outlook will sort them, move in sub-folder, flag them etc...

Hi,
I've been reading some posts about the sequence of events when a form is loaded, particularly when they have subforms and found this:
SubForm Open - SubForm Load - SubForm Current - MainForm Open - MainForm Load - MainForm Activate - MainForm Current

I have a form and subform and when I either double click on the main form in the List of Access Objects or Open Access which opens the main form I need to click something before it performs the logic in the Private Sub Form_Load() and if that click was on a button that has a event I need to click it again before that event runs. In what event would I put the logic that I am putting in my Load event so that the form is ready immediately perform the next step?

Hi Everyone,

I am having an issue with messages not automatically showing up in Outlook. I use Outlook 2007 (with all relevant Service Packs, and updates), and whenever I look at my emails now I see the following message instead of the "message content".

When I click on "Download the rest of this message now" I can see the message, after an inconvenient delay, however I would like to revert back to my old settings so that I can avoid this time wasting step.

I have followed the link below in an attempt to fix this issue -

http://email.about.com/od/outlooktips/qt/Download_Only_the_Headers_for_Large_Messages_in_Outlook.htm

What I am finding is that my settings in Outlook are correct, the option to "Download the rest of this message now", is not ticked for any of my mailbox folders.

I anticipate that there could be an incorrect registry entry, or perhaps a recent update has caused this strange behaviour.

At any rate I am at a loss, and any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Davo

Deleting that folder should not even be an option....I would just like to know how you did that.

Probably the only way is to create a new personal folder which will have a Deleted Items in it. Go to the tools then email accounts. go to your account and look for the folders tabs. remnae the existing personal folder "old personal folder". Then create the new folder. Then go back to the outlook interfacetransfer you e-mails over to the new personal folder. Once your sure everything is moved over delete the "old folder".

Hello all. I'm new to this, so bear with me!

I have Outlook 2007. All of a sudden, about 4 days ago, when I delete an email from the Inbox, it disappears completely. It used to go to Deleted, and also All Mail, and I'd use the Search function (of Windows 7) to treat emails and tasks from the last couple years as a database. So, if a client called in, I could search under their name and bring up all old emails. But now I can't. I can still Search "sent" emails, but not deleted received emails. I've fooled around with the View options, and looked for options on how deleted emails are treated, and found nothing, but I'm not very experienced at this, so I may have overlooked something. Also, All Mail hasn't added a new thing at all since this began, even though Sent still has emails it it.
I'm using a gmail email account, in order sync with a PDA. But, it was working fine for months before this came up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
HKM

I delete a message and then it puts the strikeout line and then since I have it set to "Group message for deletion" it groups the deleted message at the bottom. Problem is they end up being deleted and are not in any trash or deleted folder.

I want to be able to manually delete them as I still refer back. Can you tell me how to set it up so that they go into a trash/deleted folder and stay there until I delete them?

One of my Outlook users is experiencing numerous problems. He?s running XP Pro SP2 on a Core Duo laptop with 2GB RAM. Outlook 2007 was installed over 2003 ? the outlook.pst was originally created in 2003. At some point a while back (over a year ago), he created an archive, but then archiving stopped working, so he just kept letting his main personal folder grow. It got up to about 1.8GB. Outlook is supposed to be able to handle that, but he called me when his Outlook performance started to suffer.

Found an Outlook 2007 update that supposedly fixes performance issues with large .pst files, but he already had newer versions of the files listed in the update. Tried having him do an archive. It failed without moving any items ? Outlook didn?t give details except saying it had failed in several different folders. Noticed that the archive.pst was about 800MB, thought maybe he was having trouble working with 2 large files at the same time. Created a new .pst to archive to, tried again. Got part way through before Outlook said it failed again, without more details. It seemed to have moved some items before failing this time, but not nearly as much as it should have based on the date he chose in the ?archive items older than? selection. Remember in Outlook 2003, when you flagged an item (for follow-up) and then deleted, it showed up in your Deleted folder with the red flag next to it? Well, the 2007 version automatically removes the flag once it's been deleted. How can I keep the deleted item flagged?

A:Outlook 2007--flagged items in deleted folder

What you are telling us, is that you really do not want to delete this file?
Then what you need to do is make a "Holding" folder and place items there until you really want to delete them.

I have my systems set up, the the "Deleted" folder is emptied on exit of Outlook.

Hello, I have a user who has accidentally deleted one of her sub-folders in the Archive folder. Is there any way to recover this? I saw nothing in the Tools Menu > Recover Deleted Items.. area and there is nothing in the trash bin.

A:Recover Deleted Outlook 2007 Archive Sub-Folders

Does she have any backups at all that she could extract the folder from, I don't think that a System Restore to a date just before she deleted it would help here, although it wouldn't hurt to try.

I have a user who tells me she deleted her Junk Mail folder from Outlook 2007. She has two e-mail profiles and claims it is missing from both. I won't have access to the computer for a day or so, but I wanted to find a solution beforehand.

I assumed it would be as simple as going to Deleted Items and restoring the folder...but from what I've been reading, that isn't the case, and she shouldn't have been able to delete the folder in the first place.

Has anyone come across this before?

A:Deleted Junk Mail Folder in Outlook 2007

It may not be deleted, just moved. I know from personal experience, when I get to click and move happy with the mouse, I have dragged the folder and it ended up in one of the other folders. Then I just restored the folder and all was well again. It's worth looking into.

I created a video on my YouTube channel showing how you can recover deleted emails in Outlook 2007. I am pretty sure that the technique demonstrated will work with 2003 or 2010 as well but I've only tested it using Outlook 2007.

This technique will only work if you haven't compacted your PST file since the time you deleted the email you are trying to recover. The basic steps are to back up your PST file, then you use a HEX editor to "damage" the file by overwriting a small section of the PST file. You then use the great utility ScanPST.exe that comes with Microsoft Office to repair the PST file. When you then open the PST file in Outlook, the emails you have deleted since the last time you compacted will be in your inbox. If you have deleted a lot of emails since you last compacted it is probably a good idea to try this with a copy of your active PST file. Then you can just open it in Outlook alongside your main PST and just move the email you want recovered back into your main folder.

A:How-to recover deleted emails from Outlook 2007 for free

Thanks for sharing the info and the video.

It might make for a better demo video if you open the PST file in the HEX editor after you delete the e-mails from the PST file.

As it is now, you:
...open the PST file (with all of the test e-mails in it) using the HEX editor
...open the PST file using Outlook
...delete some e-mails
...empty the Deleted Items folder
...close Outlook (which writes to the PST file)
...damage the PST file via the HEX editor
...save the damaged PST file (with all of the test e-mails in it)
...run the SCANPST utility
...repair the PST file
...open the PST file via Outlook with all of the test e-mails in it.

So - it appears that the version of the PST file that you damaged/repaired still had the deleted e-mails in it because that version of the PST file was still in RAM via the Hex editor. I'm not familiar with the HEX editor that you show (I use PSPad). I know that there are some editors that will automatically reload a file that was changed by another app. I could not tell from the video if that is what happened. So I suggest that you not keep the version in RAM (via the editor) that contains all of the test e-mails.

My guess is that you have tested this using something like this order:
...open Outlook
...delete some e-mails
...empty the Deleted Items folder
...close Outlook
...open the PST file using the HEX editor
...damage the PST file via that HEX editor
...save the damaged PST file
...run the SCANPST utility
...repair the PST file

I have worked within Visual Basic a fair amount but have not worked with Access that much. I am trying to debug an Access Form. I open the form up in design mode. I then select View/Code and the VB Shell runs and I see all the VB code behind the events within the form, which is wonderful ! In particular, I am looking at the "AfterUpdate" event , which I think kicks in when the form is closed after you enter new data. So, how do I get into freakin' VB debug mode when running the form? I have a disconnect somewhere and I am sure the answer is simple. Thanks for your help!!

A:Solved: VB Debug of Events Behind Access Form

The AfterUpdate event works when you finish entering into that field and move to the next. The easiest way to get to the code of a particular control is to right-click it while in design mode and choose properties. Go to the events tab to see which type of event you have setup. As far as debugging, once in the VBA screen there is a Debug menu on the menu bar where you can choose to "step into" the code or you can use the "immediate window" to check the values being passed into your variables.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium (SP2), with Microsoft Office Professional 2007, on a Sony Vaio VGN-CR420E. I just had to send it into Sony Tech Support for what ended up being a harddrive failure. They did their magic, and my laptop was sent back with factory settings. I've been trying to rehab it back to my "old way," and I'm running into resistance with Outlook 2007.

I loved the way I had it set up before it died--my three AOL accounts, and my one gmail account all had their own folder sets, but new incoming mail would also appear in the Personal Folders Inbox. My Hotmail account was separate, and the primary account.

I set up all of the email accounts again, and when new AOL/Gmail emails didn't start appearing in the Personal Folder Inbox, I created rules for each of the accounts that were "on this machine only," and "through the specified account"..."Apply this rule after the message arrives through the [aol] account, and on this machine only, move it to the [Inbox] folder."

Here's the really weird part--the rules work just fine when I get into Rules and Alerts and run each rule manually. The emails transfer just like they should. How come they won't do that when I click "Send/Receive?"

I just want it back the way it was...

Where are these stored and how can I permanently delete them?

Hi All,

Noob first-time poster I'm afraid!

I'm new to Access 2007 (but have used 2003 & 2000 reasonably extensively).

I'm building an App and have created all the necessary tables, as well as creating the relationships in the Database Tools area (which I know are correct - I'm a SQL Server DBA in my day job)!

Anyway, it's an almost text book example of an employers and employees database; one employer having many employees (employerID is the foreign key on the employee table).

I have created an employer form (using the wizard) which is fine, but then when I add a button to open the employee form (selecting 'Open the form and find specific records', matching employerID on the Employer table with EmployerID on the Employee table) it doesnt work. Instead, I get a popup box asking me for the EmployerID! Even if I manually enter the correct employerID when the popup box appears it actually displays all records, so I'm sure that the problem is more fundamental (and therefore, probably my fault)!

I'm hoping that I've just overlooked something REALLY stupid, but would apprecaite any suggestions!

Cheers,
Ian.

A:Access 2007 Form Button Wizard - Form does not open with the correct records

I have seen this kind of problem with Access 2007 VBA code which does not work when it dod in 2000-2003.
It can be a Syntax problem which you may be able to get around, if not you can get around the problem bby using a Criteria in the Query that supplies the Employee Form.
Although I would have thought it would be better design wise to have the Employees as a Subform or Tabbed Subform on your Employer Mainform.
I do not have Access 2007, only 2003 so I can't help with the VBA, but you could post the code anyway.

Did you use a Wizard to create the Employee Form, if so check the Record Source SQL it may be preventing your EmployerID from working.

My multi item form isn't letting me add new records, only update and delete current ones.

My guess it that this is because the form is based on a multi-table query. That's fine, I can make a new form specifically for adding new records, but I'd like to be able to salvage this form if possible. Is there any way to either force this form to accept new records in the bottom row, or is there any way to get rid of the "add record" bottom row completely so it's not misleading users into thinking they can add records here?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

I have a subform which on its own - works beautifully but fails under the mainform. I use a main form to select the record that the end user wants to update. Upon update event on main form, the sub form opens, presenting fields for possible updating. The Sub Form also present 2 buttons - Save & Close or Cancel and Close (Undo). When the main form opens, the code set AllowClose as False. When the sub form is opened as a result of the update on the mainform, the issue is the Close command /code gets canceled. (Error 2501). I have tried: 1. setting AllowClose (true and False) on both forms, 2. only the main form and 3. only the subform. None of these 3 configurations resolves the issue. Also, I tried moving the buttons to the mainform instead of the sub form but that failed as well.

The application has a dozen forms and all of them utilize AllowClose functionality so the end user MUST use the buttons on the forms to force background queries (updates, deletes, perform calculations, recalc control totals etc). This is the first time I have tried to use Allow Close on a subform with buttons.

I have a Gmail IMAP/MS Outlook 2007 issue here that I have been trying to figure out for months now.

Here's the issue: Ever Other message I delete from Outlook 2007 that is using Gmail IMAP service show the following error message attached below

"The item cannot be deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or access was denied."

After doing some tweaking and research on my own I have seem to locate one odd walk around with this error. Whenever I disable email protection within NOD32 AV the error messages stop. So that told me that it may be a issue within Eset NOD32 AV. However, after disabling every single scanner the email protection I am unable to figure out a solution, other then using a different AV product. Which I do not want to do, as I prefer using NOD32.

Has anyone else had a issue like this one and figure out a fix yet?

FYI: I have also tweaked with GMail IMAP settings within Gmail Settings.

TIA

Hi
I have just installed Outlook 2002 on a Windows 7 Professional OS. I exported the Email Messages from WLM to Outlook. All went well until I opened any of the Outlook shortcuts, Inbox, Sent Items, etc. When I click on any of these, I get the pop-up: "The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook form instead. The object could not be found". I have installed the 2.0 Hot Fix for Outlook and deleted FRMCACHE.DAT from the FORMS folder. I sure would appreciate some help with this.
The computer I'm working with is a Dell Latitude E5500. Intel Core 2 Duo, CPU 2.40 GHz., RAM 2.0 GB, 32 bit, 150 GB hard drive.

Thanks

A:The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an outlook form

Outlook 2002 is now an old program. As far as I know it is no longer supported by MS, so would be prone to virus infections etc.
From what I have seen when searching the web Outlook 2002 is not really compatible with Window 7 & is prone to all sorts of problems.
You can do a web search by typing Outlook 2002 & Windows 7 & follow the results.
You should stick to your WLM program, uninstall Outlook 2002, then purchase if necessary a much later version of Outlook.

My employer just upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007. According to the help files, I should be able to paste Excel charts into Word that update automatically when changes are made to either version.

I am clicking "Link to Excel data" and "Keep source formatting" when using the little popup clipboard to paste a chart into Word. But after closing both files, opening Excel and updating data on the chart, saving and closing Excel and re-opening Word, the chart is not updating with the new information. I can't get it to update by clicking on "refresh data" either.

Does anyone know how this is supposed to work? I was looking forward to being able to update just the Excel file and having it update in all the Word documents where it is pasted.

Our OS is Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 2. My work computer has a Pentium 4, 3 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM.

Heading up north (New Zealand) to visit family this weekend, and I guarantee my niece will be fidgeting with my laptop!! (Yes I can hide the thing etc etc, but she'll find it, then jump on it, and do god knows what to it! She's a spoilt little brat!)

I'm after a freeware program which would require a password to delete nominated files (say my music collection or video clips). I want it so you have full access to view / read them but as soon as someone hits [delete] it prompts a password! (also preventing a [Shift] + [Delete]).

Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Specs:

Compaq Presario 2200 Pentium M 1.3Ghz 1.5GB RAM
Windows XP SP3

Cheers in advance!

A:Password to Prevent files from being deleted

Why not password the laptop so she cant use it full stop.

You could create a limited account and make your files private so she cant access them from her account, then make a copy of them into her account, once your trip is over and the little brat is history just remove the account.

Having a number of Internet Explorer functionality problems and tried almost every options setting change to get it back. Get a http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx white screen at launch. Can nav through most websites but any redirects, vids, ebay, etc.. all crap out. Think it could be WMP11, Vista, Explorer changed settings linked.

Also tried re-registering regsvr32 jscript.dll and regsvr32 vbscript.dll but get loaded but call to DllRegisterService failed with error code 0x80004005 for both.

I am not sure if my McAfee Total Protection did something and it took me a while to get that thing uninstalled completely. I am not planning on doing new install until I can somehow get Explorer back up. All other computer functions are normal. I am using Firefox now and really don't mind it but hate to have anything not working on my PC.

PC is 2007 Dell Intel 2 Core Duo 1.86 2GB RAM and, painfully, running on Windows Vista 32. Any help on this or anything else you can see in my HJT would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I have spent literally days trying to figure this out on my own, and thought I'd finally solicit some advice.

I have a program that I want to prevent *anyone* (including me, as an administrator) from moving, deleting, or otherwise disabling.

The program is called Cold Turkey, and it is the best access restriction program for "internet addiction" that I've found. Despite its relative strength, I am still able to get around it by renaming and moving the file or deleting it in safe mode. I know I should just get some self control, but this is what I'm doing now. I'm fairly tech savvy and can unfortunately get around most means of locking the computer. I am looking to be able to:
run it without a password and give to a friend to safekeep;have access to the interface to change time and other settings (so read/write/modify, right?)prevent my ability to delete or otherwise disable the program.

So I then tried a few file "hiding" softwares.

Wise Folder wasn't good enough for me--no safe mode protection, etc., and I don't believe it played nice with executables.

Folder Protect did not recognize my password and I spent a good amount of time figuring out how to delete it. Pretty much the same with File Lock Pro. I tried another one that looked promising, but I found that it was freeware and had no customer support whatsoever, which after my bad experiences with FG and the other. Literally, and absolutely, they forgot my pw, and I'm not going through that aga... Read more

First, I want to again thank everyone who helped me with my first question: Text Form Field in Word 2003.

My next question is: Is there a way to automatically tab to the next form field?

End Time

I would like to key in the hour (00), skip over the colon, key in the minutes (01) and have Word or VBA tab to the next field.

Can this be done? Any ideas?

Windows 10 update keeps deleting NVIDIA display drivers - how to prevent ?

After each Windows 10 update:
1) get the message "your display drivers have been updated, restart"
2) after restart only one display is showing content - the other one is blank
3) have poor, miserable relolution
4) install NVIDIA display drivers
5) restart
6) re-organize my desktop in two monitors
7) too often Windows 10 interrups NVIDIA display driver installation
8) sometimes Windows 10 does allow NVIDIA install program to continue
9) each time spend 3-4 hours extra time to get back with the working system

Notes:
a) I will NEVER want MS display drivers because I have the ones from NVIDIA designed by NVIDIA
b) trying to deny display driver update by Windows 10 has no effect
c) saving the working system and recovering ti does not help because MS does not include device drivers
to be part of working system
d) new update in correct and guaranteed to embed MS trial to force user to use MS drivers instead of NVIDIA

Is there any WORKING methods to have NVIDIA display drivers serving two monitors ?

A:NVIDIA display drivers deleted by Windows 10 update - how to prevent

The drivers that Windows 10 install are Nvidia drivers....they just aren't the absolute latest, since Nvidia updates often. On my tower, I don't see the same issues as you, but my solution is to run the Nvidia GeForce Experience tool. It will alert you to new driver versions and download them for you. There's no need or reason to spend hours arranging a desktop. If Windows Update is installing drivers, it means it found something newer than you had originally.

Hi

I have a number of problems with a database that I am creating, one of which is how to automatically add a date to a field in a form.

This is a database that will be used by multiple users, and one of the fields is called "Date last updated". I have imported the data and locked the fields that shouldn't be changed (thanks to a reply to a previous post on here). I thought it would be straightforward just to add =NOW() to the field on the form, but that doesn't make any difference. I have also tried setting the default value of the field in the original table to =NOW() and "binding" the field in the table to that. Doesn't work either! Does anyone know how I can do this?

I also have another question for you....see my other post!!!

Thanks

Ed

An Excel list of parts includes serial numbers in the first column.A seperate page has a custom-designed form (template?)with blank cells for items on list. One of these cells is a blank serial number box.
1) If I open the form and type in a serial number, I would like that action to "select" a row of items corresponding to that serial no.
By means of formulae in the cells, the items would be copied to the appropriate cells on the form which can then be printed out.
Can I achieve this in excel (or access)? The help and books do not give relevant explanations.

A:A method for filling a custom form automatically

Your question is not a Windows 9x Operating System question but an application question so I am moving it to the Application Forum.

I think your problem can be done using Excel or Access. Hopefully someone will provide the details. Good luck. Dan-O

I am running Outlook 2003 on a Dell Laptop with WIndows XP. For the longest time, my Calendar has been automatically deleting almost all events older than 3 or 4 weeks. I have turned off the AutoArchiving function all together, but it still happens. I also have tried looking for any old calendar events in my Archive.PST file, but there does not seem to be anything in these files worthwhile.

So, how do I stop this from happening and where do my old events end up going, if not to the Archive.pst folder?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi All

I've been working with Outlook for years but never really mastered the manipulating of calendars. I just feel like I'm missing something obvious here

I just want to take the data from one calendar and move it to a new empty one.

My issue is that I'm migrating a guy's email from POP to IMAP in 2016. Email can be dragged and dropped into the new .ost and Contacts can be exported/imported - easy-peasy!

Then I export the Calendar from the old .pst and import it into the .ost but it adds itself below the default calendar with "(This Computer Only)" written next to it and Outlook doesn't seem to want to accept it as the default and throws warning up when it's used for meeting setups and stuff.

I just feel like it should be a simple thing to ctrl+A the contents of the imported calendar and then copy+paste it into the default one.

Or is there a way of making the imported one the default?

Surely I don't have to ditch the imported one and start anew with the new default?!?!

Many thanks in advance!!

Hello,
Setup: Outlook 2002 in a domain to an Exchange server.

We have a shared calendar to which everyone can view and add events. If an employee takes a day off, they put an all-day event in the shared calendar that shows them as being off that day, thereby allowing everyone else to know who is in and who is not. Normally, everyone can see those events with no problem when viewing a single day. The problem occurred on Friday when 13 people took the day off. If anyone had their screen resolution set to 800x600 (which most people do), then they could only see the first 10 all-day events with no scroll bars available to see the other three. The only way for them to view the other three is to change their screen res to 1024x768 and then close and reopen Outlook. Problem is, most people have 15" LCD monitors, so using 1024x768 is not acceptable, especially considering that some need 640x480 to view their screen.

As you might imagine, I am having a devil of a time finding anything online about this and how to change it. I have scoured through Outlook, ms.com, slipstick.com, and this board to find an answer, but I have found nothing helpful. I am hoping that their is some sort of registry tweak or something to make this go bye-bye.

If anyone has any idea at all on how to fix this, please oh please won't you help?!? And would someone please think of the children!

I have Outlook connected to exchange and recently some of the calendars events are off by one hour. This occur almost immediately after I was able to use my iPad to check calendar events via Activesync. I also have my Android phone connected to Exchange as well. Funny thing is only Outlook is effected. All calendars events appear correct on iPad, Android and OWA. I made sure the time zone are correct on the machine running Outlook and also made sure Outlook is set to the correct time zone. Anyone had similar issues with this?

Hey there folks.. I have what may amount to be a small problem or an easy fix but I can't figure it out for the life of me. I have spent the last week researching this problem, off and on.

What I need help with:

I have a semi-complex database in Access 2007 and I will have several forms. I need the forms to have clear fields when the user opens the form. Is there a way to automatically clear the forms upon opening of the form by the user without the need to click a 'clear' button? If so, how do I go about achieving this end?

Thanks,
Jason
