Does anyone know how you can download an .ical attachment (i.e. from a website) directly into the Outlook iCloud calendar on your PC? So far I can only download an ical appointment into the Outlook calendar (the default, which is part of the .pst file) and then manually drag it into the iCloud calendar so it appears on my other devices.....More replies
I have a 3Ghz PC running Windows Xp Home and my question for you is about MS Outlook 03; specifically about the calendar feature. Some of the appointments that I create in the calendar will flash a reminder for me that they are coming due, just like they are supposed to and some of them won’t; the date and time just pass without any notification. I don’t think I am doing any thing differently between setting up the ones that work and the ones that won’t. I have my copy of Win Xp set to automatically update itself and I always check for any new updates for Office at least once a month. I even reloaded MS Office, thinking that some part of it must be corrupted. Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help…
Reminders are options on appointments. Make sure you're setting it.
I have a user where she had setup up a reoccurring calendar event and not it's missing from her own outlook calendar. I checked the deleted and changed calendar views to see if i can find the missing appointment but i don't see it anywhere. Anybody else seen this and know of a way to get the missing appointment back?
Lots of information about troubleshooting the problem here:

Please let us know if you manage to resolve the issue.
Edit: Just a thought, is the User syncing with any other device?
Have an issue with sharing calendars.
There is one user in our office whose calendar I and others are just unable to see. All that shows is a recurring daily appointment, despite her having several daily appointments. Have checked the delegate permissions and the permissions of all who the calendar is shared with but no-one can see her calendar items. This one user is able to see my and my colleagues calendars with no problem.
As stated - all permissions have been checked and are ok.
I am stuck as to what to try next. Please can anyone help?
I am assuming that you are on an Exchange server to share your calendars.

I use Outlook and have an IMAP account. My calendar appointments have disappeared from the main view but I can see them on my iPhone. If I change the current view to 'all appointments' they are listed but when I go back to 'Day/Week/Month' view it is empty. I can only see items in these views: All Appointments; Active Appointments; By Category and Outlook Data Files. I can also log into my calendar in iCloud and see the same appointments there. I have run scanpst to fix any errors but still can't access appointments on PC. Any ideas?
First backup your current profile by exporting the PST somewhere easy to find. Next delete your current profile. Go to Programs and Features, select MS Office, then choose to Change and use the Repair feature.
Reboot, manually go to Windows Update and look for new updates, be sure to look through the optional updates and select and download any Office Updates, especially those for Outlook. Reboot the machine, fire up Outlook and create a new profile. If anything is missing, import the original PST but make sure you choose to Ignore Duplicates. That will extract and import only what is not already there.
I have Microsoft 2003 on my Windows Vista laptop. The calendar won't show appointments that I type in, although they show up when I sync my laptop with my Blackberry. Other than that, Outlook seems to work fine. According to my laptop calendar I don't have a life! Any suggestions? Thanks!!
have you tried creating a new profile and then check this.

One of my users has several instances of calendar appointments that he created. He can open them on his Laptop, but he can not open on his Desktop. It appears that he can open some of the ones he created, but not all, on that PC. It also appears that on both PC?s, he can open all calendar appointments created by other people. His Administrative Assistant can open all of his calendar appointments from her PC, so the problem is specific to his Desktop.
Outlook 2003 (11.8118.8122) SP2 [part of Office 2003 Pro]
This sound like a corrupted Outlook, which would entail a reinstall of Office. It's kinda messy but not many other options.
You could check the event viewer in the Application log and see what errors it's holding. I'm not aware of a setting that might cause this, but it's certainly possible.
Get back to me with what you'd like to try.
I have a user here at work that had Outlook 2000 and her machine crashed. We have since started using Office 2003 and we gave her a new pc. All of her calendar appointments do not show up. Is there a way to to get these to show up in 2003. These are in a pst.
If there are in a pst and you have copied the pst to the local drive, just open outlook 2003 > file > Open > Outlook Data File, navigate to and select the pst.

I have just started work at a new job with a PC that is new to me. It has Outlook 2003 on it. I am familiar with the very basics of Outlook from my previous job. I keep trying to add calendar appointments in my Outlook calendar. Nothing shows up on my calendar, however the appointment does show up in the Active Appointments area which I do not use. I have checked and am calendaring in the correct year. I have gone through Tools to add US holidays to my calendar - they do not show up either. I have a bit more info to include but have run out of space. I would appreciate your help. Thanks!

Can I get Outlook to tell me if I book a new appointment on the Calendar, and the location I specify already has another appointment booked for an overlapping time? Like 'Warning this location is busy at your chosen time!' or something?

When I go to print preview in my calendar in outlook 2002, it only displays my recurring events and appointments. None of the individual, one-time entries are there. Same thing when it prints, only the recurring ones. The other are all there on the screen but they just don't show in preview or print. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
How do you transer Calendar appointments from one pst to anoter?
Help, recently (as in about two weeks ago) my Outlook2000 calendar has suddenly started showing all the appointments (birthdays from contacts and and holidays are all I have use it for) as "Multi-day events". They really shouldn't be of course - but something has gone terribly wrong in the program.
Does anyone have any idea what caused this or how to fix it with out having to delete all the birthdays and reenter them individually?
This is very frustrating....
thanks for any assistance!
In this post, you'll find a bunch of command-line switches for Outlook.
I suggest you try /cleanfreebusy.
Does anyone know if it's possible to print a weekly view of a calendar in Outlook 2003 showing free/busy details but without displaying the appointment details? I know it's possible to hide private appointments, but this does not meet our needs.
To put this into context:
We have three meeting rooms in our library, each with their own 'resource' calendar in our Outlook system which is used to manage the room bookings. We wish to print the bookings out on a weekly basis and display them on the meeting room doors so people can see if the room is free/booked. There is a data protection problem with us printing the room bookings with people's details in it owing to the public nature of our building. The calendars are shared amongst all the library employees and everyone needs to see who the bookings have been made for on the computer so making them all 'private' appointments is not practical.
Has anyone done anything similar? Anyone got a solution?
Thanks in anticipation!
Print up the calander month (blank) and write in it? never used that feature in Microsoft Outlook, but its one idea
I need help with a macro. So far the macro is operating as it should , creating MS Outlook 2010 calendar appointments using data from an excel data spreadsheet (data base). The issue I’m having is that every time the macro is run for a new entry, duplicate calendar appointments are created for the already existing data in the data base. I would like to have the macro do a search to ensure an appointment does not exist before creating one. I have read a few threads with similar problems but have had major issues incorporating the solutions to resolve the issue I’m having.
I have attached the macro in txt. format for reference.
Thanks for your help.
You can use this function to check if an appointment exists based on the Start Day/Time
Public Function CheckAppointment(ByVal argCheckDate As Date) As Boolean
Dim oApp As Outlook.Application
Dim oNameSpace As Outlook.Namespace
Dim oApptItem As Outlook.AppointmentItem
Dim oFolder As Outlook.MAPIFolder
Dim oMeetingoApptItem As Outlook.MeetingItem
Dim oObject As Object
On Error Resume Next
' check if Outlook is running
Set oApp = GetObject("Outlook.Application")
If Err <> 0 Then
'if not running, start it
Set oApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set oNameSpace = oApp.GetNamespace("MAPI")
Set oFolder = oNameSpace.GetDefaultFolder(olFolderCalendar)
CheckAppointment = False
For Each oObject In oFolder.Items
If oObject.Class = olAppointment Then
Set oApptItem = oObject
If oApptItem.Start = argCheckDate Then
CheckAppointment = True
Set oApp = Nothing
Set oNameSpace = Nothing
Set oApptItem = Nothing
Set oFolder = Nothing
Set oObject = Nothing
For this to work you need to have Tools/References/Microsoft Outlook xx Object Library enabled.
Then alter your macro like this
Private Sub cmdOutApt_Click()
' Create the Outlook session
Set myOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
' Start at row 2
r = 2
Do Until Trim(Cells(r, 1).Value) = "&q... Read more
Hi all... I just joined this forum as past threads have been of great assistance... But now I have a immediate issue... I have wrote some code to pull info from a Excel report and create an Outlook appointment base on various commitment dates... This report is sent out daily therefore the macro is used daily... An issue that has risen is that everytime the macro is ran it creates duplicate appoinments which quickly bogg down the server... I saw an example on a closed thread and could not quite figure it out... Can anyone assist??? I am running 2003 versions of both Excel and Outlook and my code is as follow and thanks...
' ExceltoOutlookCommitDate Macro
' Load Excel Commit Dates into Outlook
' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+o
' Create the Outlook session
Set myOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
If MsgBox(prompt:="OK if YES / CANCEL if NO", _
Buttons:=vbOKCancel + vbQuestion, Title:="HAS PAA BEEN FILTERED?") = vbOK Then
MsgBox "MACRO WILL NOW UPDATE OUTLOOK CALENDAR WITH PROCLAIM COMMIT DATES."
' Start at row 5
r = 5
Do Until Trim(Cells(r, 1).Value) = ""
If (Cells(r, 20).Value) = "" Then
' Create the AppointmentItem
Set myApt = myOutlook.createitem(1)
' Set the appointment properties

I'm not going to look through the whole code but what I think happens is that sinec you run the macro every time it will just add an appoitment, I think an options should be added, something like an extra column namen DONE and when the macro is run the cell in the column DONE should be given a value True() or a 1 to indicate it as done, so that when you run the macro again the column DONE cells where the valkue is not True() or is not 1 (dependign on waht you choose) is carried out.
This way you will avoid duplication.
Just an idea, happy coding.
I've got some lovely code that add appointments to outlook, However I would like it to check to make sure it's not adding in a duplicate entry, I have seen an answer on here but I couldn't get it to work, I'm not exactly a super user!!

I have Outlook 2003. Sometimes I get an email notification that an event is happening and I can click a link to add it to my Outlook Calendar.
How do I make a link like this in something I send out?

HI all, I am new to this sit and I am looking for some help. I am looking for a way to add a PDF calendar to outlook and have the dates in the PDF link to the calendar in outlook. I am not sure how or if this is possible, If it isn't possible is there a way to add excel or word docs with dates and be able to send them so add attachments that can link to the recipients outlook calendar.
I hope I explained this well enough. I appreciate any feedback thank you.
I have noticed that the calendar is making an event be a weekly recurrence, for sure after I have gone into the event and added something in the Notes. It may happen under other conditions as well, but this is the one I have noticed. After adding information in the notes, all of a sudden, it is in the calendar as a weekly occurrence. Any ideas?
Need to add: I just tried adding a note to an event...that time, it did not make it a recurrence. Then I went back in to the same event and added a Location. THEN it did make it a recurring event (weekly).
I have an issue with Calendar Appointments in Microsoft Outlook. I use Outlook 2003. When I send a calendar appointment to a recipient I receive the following system administrator error:
"The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address."
The actual recipient receives my calendar appointment and accepts it. The above error appears because it also sends the calendar appointment to another recipient who no longer works at the company. The main recipient has no delegate permissions granted to anybody so I am unsure as to why the error appears and why it sends the appointment to this secondary person.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to solve this? It only happens to this particular individual when sending calendar appointments.
Are you sending this just to the one user? If so, are they in your address book? Verify that you don't have the email address for the employee who is no longer working for the company in the address book listing anywhere.
I think I am losing my mind. I could see my calendar items in a pane to the right of my email up until yesterday, now it is gone and I have no idea how to get it back.
I am using Windows XP with I think Outlook 2003 or 2007.
Can anyone help?
if no good try click configuration add/remove button add calander
Does anyone know of a program, preferably free, that would project on my monitor a calendar page for any given month for a given year and that would also allow me to type in things to be done on any given day.
In other words I'd like to see a page from a physical write-in calendar projected on the screen, so that I could see the entire month of appointments etc. at a glance as I can with a physical write-in calendar. But I would like also to be able to call up whatever month of a given calendar I wanted.
Sure would apprecite any leads.

I'm using the Microsoft Calendar application in Windows 8. I don't recall if it was already on my laptop when I bought it or if I installed it from the store very early on. (I got the laptop new for Christmas in 2012. It's an ASUS K55N if that matters.)
I'm troubled by the fact that some of my appointments have disappeared. For instance, I created two appointments for today when I was using the laptop yesterday and was very disappointed to see that they weren't there when I turned on the laptop this morning. Since I was online when I added the appointments and was offline when I checked this morning, I thought MAYBE the appointments made when you're online only become visible when you're online but I'm online now and I still don't see those appointments.
Is there some trick I need to know to make it remember my appointments? I don't mean to imply that it never remembers appointments: I've got several appointments in the calendar that were remembered perfectly well and are still there, weeks after they happened. It's just that SOME appointments seem to disappear for no reason that is obvious to me.
In the absence of a trick or setting that guarantees the appointments are remembered, can anyone suggest a good free Calendar-type app that reliable remembers ALL appointments?
Hi. I'm sure there's just something wrong with the app. Try these:

So...I can connect the iCloud account just fine in account settings. However, it doesn't show up in Calendar or Mail as an account I can view, yet it still shows up as properly connected in Settings. Suggestions? A quick google hasn't helped as it just suggested workarounds that result in read-only (not ideal) or things Ive already tried with no luck.
Posting solution here. If you have 2-step verification enabled on iCloud, you must log into iCloud -> account -> security/password -> generate app specific password and use that for Windows. It synced immediately after deleting and relinking iCloud account with that new app specific password.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate and MicroSoft Office 10 on my desktop computer, use Outlook for email and contacts, used to use the Outlook calendar till I got an iPhone 5S a few months ago, so now my calendar is the iCloud calendar, viewed in Outlook. The notes section of iCloud calendar entries uses very tiny font that is barely visible. I cannot find a way to change the font in the iCloud calendar in Outlook. There is no "format text" tab in the iCloud calendar to choose font type and size, like there is in the Outlook calendar. I spoke to Apple, who said this is a MicroSoft issue. I don't find anything regarding this when I Google "font size icloud calendar". I realize I can highlight the notes and make them larger with the mouse so I can read them on the desktop, but I would prefer to set my default font as a larger size.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I appreciate any help I can get.
It does seem that this is a problem with the iCloud & Outlook. The forum below discusses this issue & there are no really complete solutions, but there are some work arounds that you could try.
After installing Windows 10 I lost my Icloud contacts and calendar ability in Outlook . This is the error message :

I have switched to Windows 10 for mail and calendars as Outlook was taking too long to load. I have set up my gmail account for mail and all is working fine. However I use iCloud for my calendars and want to see my iCloud calendars in Windows 10.
However I am having problems setting up my iCloud account in Windows 10. I enter the relevant details but the "looking for your settings" process never completes. Could this be because I use the same email address for Gmail and my Apple ID?
I suspect I'm making a basic error but would welcome any suggestions. Thank you.
I currently use Outlook 2010 because I have a paid license but I'm willing to upgrade.
This works Ok with iCloud but what I don't like is that I can't make my icloud calendar the default in Outlook so I don't get reminders on my PC. What I end up doing is manually copying critical appointments from my icloud calendar to my Outlook default calendar if I want to be sure to get a reminder on my PC!. This isn't ideal though. Does anyone have a better solution? I read that the latest Outlook 2016 doesn't sync at all so I can't upgrade Office. I wish MS and Apple would decide to work together instead of trying to defeat each other!!
I believe icloud will sync with windows 10 mail and calendar apps - is that true?
I've also heard of emclient being good but haven't tried it.
I'd really appreciate any input.

I have a few users who receive the following error message when they attempt to create a new appointment in Outlook, "The object was not found" or they would receive, "An error occurred registering the form in the OLE registry". However, these users can all click, "File" - "New" - "Choose Form" and "Open" to create a new appointment using the "Standard forms library". None of these users have created new forms. So why do they receive those error messages when they double-click a date/time on the calendar as if to make a new appointment?
I tried to search the internet for a solution, the only solution I found helpful was to rename the following file:
C:\Documents and settings\User's folder\Local settings\Application data\Microsoft\Forms\Frmcache.dat
This resolves the issue for every user who only manages their own calendar, but the users who make appointments on other peoples calendars are unable to make appointments on other people's calendar but they can on their own. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi i just got a new computer and trying to set up outlook mail with my gmail account.
i have worked with Microsoft every day setting up the email account to the data file. i have icloud for my contacts and calendar only NOT my email. every time micorost fixes the email account it disappears and gets replaced by the icloud account and I can not receive mail. it has happened 5 times. i have worked with level 2 guys in microsoft and
it still happens. i can not get help with Apple because i do not have a mac.
why would the icloud interfere with my mail in outlook to download it and wipe it away.
when this happens i can not get my mail in outlook
any suggestions? is it outlook, icloud or my computer
I have windows 7 and outlook 2010 on a PC. When linking to icloud and enabling it to synch with icloud, icloud took the contacts off my computer (at least it seems that way). In trying to resolve the issue and talking with Apple and Omnitech, a variety of solutions were tried. I now have all my contacts in the right categories showing up on my PC, but it appears that they are not on the PC but in the cloud. My goal is to copy one of my categories, mailing list, into a new separate folder in the folder list in order to use it to merge with Word and make labels. In the past, I could right click on the mailing list category and drag it to the new folder that I created. It would then ask if I wanted it to copy the file there or move it. I copied it to the new folder and then was able to merge it with word. Currently, when I try to drag the file to the folder, it indicates that this action can not be done. It appears to me that the reason this is occurring is that the contact file is in the cloud not on the computer. ?? I would like to create a file with my contacts on the PC with the contacts in the right categories and not duplicating what is currently showing up from the cloud. I believe once I do this I will again be able to copy the category to the new folder.More replies

Outlook 03 Sent Appointments Become Messages
When I send an appointment to a colleague, it shows as an appointment on my computer. When he opens it, it is received as a note or message. when I send it to myself, it stays an appointment that I can drag into the calendar.
This is my second message on this board, no one replied to my first one. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Any settings, etc?
HELP!!! I have MS Outlook 2000. Yesterday, ALL my appointments, except annual recurring events were GONE - past, present and future. My contacts were NOT affected. I spoke to Chapura, and they said, "Sorry, it's gone". I believe Spyware interfered with Outlook, changing the date to 2036. As a result, all appointments are gone - Outlook does not extend that far into the future. I have cleaned up my computer, but I cannot retrieve my appointments.
There is a file... archive.pst, dated 2/3/36??? Is it possible that all my information is in this file??? How can I open it??? I keep trying, and it keeps saying... "Open with..." I've tried Word, Adobe, you name it, but nothing will open it...
I synch'd with my Zire, and it erased everything on my handheld.
What do I do???

Since the time changed over this weekend, appointments have been screwed up.
Here's the issue. On this one workstation, I keep setting the clock and time zone to the real-time settings. After a while, the time jump back an hour ahead. I have unchecked the "Automatically adject clock for DS changes" in the Date/Time Properities. Even then the time time jumps ahead one behind. How can I keep this from changing?
Another issue is to adjust the appointments in Outlook. Once I correct the time, the appointments are one hour behind. What can I do to change all the appointments one hour ahead without creating everything new again. Now I have searched and searched but I keep getting this TZONE.exe. That didnt work for me. Has anyone else have any idea that can help me out?
I'm working with a client who's all-day appointments are now one hour off stretching them from 11pm to 11pm instead of 12am to 12am. The DST patch has been applied, and the Time Zone Data Update tool does not find any appointments to update.
We're talking about hundreds of appointments and holidays so a one-at-a-time modification isn't practical.
I've searched around the web but am not finding any complete solutions. Most posts just say "Google for the fix".
Everytime I try to send an appointment from outlook it comes back with: 550 Gateway: 451 Can't connect to cableone.net - psmtp.
Where are these settings that I need to change. I can send and recieve mail just fine just can not get the appointments sent.
does this mean it can not connect to cableone server?
Something bizarre happened on a user machine I'm looking at. They have a lot of appointments including some series and for some reason, when you go back into them, they are asking for acceptance, even though that user created them.
Tested with a couple of new appointments, and that's fine, so it's just all historical data.
Anyone got any ideas please?
It looks as though the meetingn organiser has changed. All existing items show the user as email address, whereas new ones show as user name. Email address is still the same, but something has obviously thrown it out.
About two or three weeks ago my Outlook account finally got upgraded to the new version. There were no problem and all my emails were intact. Today, however, when I open my Outlook - be it in the web app or in the Outlook Mail and Calendars - all my emails are appointments are suddenly gone. Is this a normal behavior? How can I retrieve back all my emails and appointments?
P.S. I've been looking for answers in the official Microsoft Community, but the replies are the standard copy-and-paste replies. So disappointing.

I have the strangest problem I've ever run across. I'm running WinXP SP2 and the Student-Teacher edition of Office 2003. EVERYTHING works fine with the exception of the Appointment Window that pops up whenever I want to schedule a new appointment in the Outlook 2003 calendar. After typing the subject of the appt, I move down to the middle section of the window to select the Start date and time as well as the End date and time. I click on the little down arrow next to these fields and a pull-down appears showing me a little calendar for the dates and a list of times for the time field. BUT, the minute I move my mouse from that little arrow, the pull-down disappears!!! The identical thing happens in the lower section to select the reminder duration. Bo other field in OUTLOOK or any other Office 2003 program has this issue. This is VERY annoying! Can anyone help me out? I've already run the Find and Repair, both from the software itself and the CD. The only thing I haven't done is to remove and reinstall OUTLOOK. Any help anyone has is greatly appreciated.
Thanks -- Tony

I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2007.
When I make a "new appointment", I usually "INSERT" business cards to it (from Contacts, of course).
But when I happen to update contacts information later on (in Contacts), the change made by me in the particular contact (for example phone number) does not get reflected in the business cards in appointments. The change is only made in Contacts, but not in scheduled appointments. Which makes the whole process much more time consuming, as I prepare a lot of reccurenced appointments, so I hoped that once I've set them up I wouldn't need to check them again...
Anyone could help...??
You can change the recurring appointment as a series with the new business card.
Or I suspect that you could use VBA to "refresh" all of your appointments on the click of a menu button, or maybe based after you update a contact information.
I can't get the popup reminders for the calendars to work. Neither in the Metro calendar nor in Outlook.
I also can't make them synchronize.
Does anyone know?
Do sound alerts exist at all in Windows calendars or just pop ups if any?

How to solve this without knowing what error is causing this?
I have tried reinstalling Office and iCloud (run as administrator) but no luck. Is Windows 10 compabtible for iCloud? Apple says no and Microsoft says yes.......
How could i fix this problem?
It did worked before, but it slowed down my computer so much that i decided to reinstall the Office package. Everything worked ok after the reinstall and Office programs are running ok. Only I can't get iCloud to sync with Outlook anymore.
Thanks for the help.
I have this problem, also. Would appreciate any help. It worked initially, but sync was not working. I then signed out in order to sign back in, but not possible.1 more replies
Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked ? the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.
Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected ? or maybe not quite as expected. I?ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven?t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.
Very strange. Anybody know what?s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.
I'm trying to help a friend who has just installed Office 2016 on her computer, which was recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10.
She's been using Outlook.com and has accumulated a fair amount of email, contacts and calendar appointments. I've managed to get her email to show up by adding it to Outlook 2016 as a POP3 account. I was able to import her contacts into Outlook 2016 from a file called OutlookContacts.csv. Now I'm trying to get her calendar with all its many calendars and appointments into Outlook 2016.
I'm not sure why but the appointments all show up just fine in Mail and Calendar for Windows 10, even though we did nothing to put them there (as far as we know). But she'd like them to appear when she clicks on the Calendar in Outlook 2016 and I can't find any information on how to do that. I've also looked for some kind of Export function in the Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 app but I came up empty.
How do I get her calendar into Outlook 2016?
I can't be the only one who finds Microsoft *awful* at documenting this kind of basic functionality. Millions of people must have tried to do the same thing before me but if there's any information out there on how to do this, it has eluded me so far....
You can manually export calendars from Outlook.com using a round-a-bout method I posted at this link. However, I don't think that's going to help you because what you really want to do is set up Outlook 2016 so that her email, calendar and contacts sync with (and stay in sync with) her Outlook.com account.
Therefore, instead of setting email up as a POP account and then importing calendar, contacts, etc. separately, why not just setup Outlook 2016 to work with her Outlook.com account? I haven't done it with Outlook 2016, only older Outlook versions that used Hotmail Connector, however the following instructions for Outlook 2016 seem fairly straight forward.
If she has two-factor authentication switched on for her Outlook.com account, then you may need to generate an app password from her Outlook.com account, and use that as the password instead of the actual Microsoft Account password.
Is there a way to change appointments in Outlook 2016 instead of going on the web to change it in Outlook? Seems stupid to have to go on the web when your Calendar is right there.More replies
I seem to be having some Outlook 2000 calendar appointment problems. We run a microsoft business server, and I think that might be causing the problem, but i'm not sure. Here is what happens:
Whenever somebody posts and appointment on their personal calendar on outlook, the appointment stays there for only about 2 days before it dissapears. I thought it might be an archive problem, but I have deactivated the auto archive on all the computers in the office.
Ok. The only thing I could think of since I saw this post the first time....
are these people synching with handhelds or anything?
The behavior sounds whacky.
It's not really appropriate to "broadcast" your email address on the web. Ever hear of a "webcrawler"? That's what they do. Find strings like [email protected]...

Can anyone help me with booking Outlook 2010 appointments in 10 minute periods? As far as I can see, only half hour periods are permitted and I would like to enter an appointment for 2:20pm.
You can type in any time you'd like for the start time. Just type 2:20pm in the Start Time box.
I have 12 appointments to add into Outlook 2007 (day view) which vary from 15 min, 30, 45 min. When I enter them manually, they appear to overlap each other and are difficult to view.
Alternatively, I suppose I could insert a Word doc with the schedules commencing the block of time but would appreciate any comments/suggestions.

I have a new Windows 10 laptop and I have migrated most everything from my previous laptop that I wanted and everything has been working pretty good up to now. I use Outlook 2007 for POP3 email and had installed in on the new LT and moved my PST and all was working good with email, contacts and calendar after much help from here: https://forums.techguy.org/threads/...le-on-new-windows-10-pc.1163278/#post-9186499. Yesterday I decided to move my iTunes from the old LT to the new LT and I installed ITunes and ICloud on the new LT and synced it with my iPhone 6. Thought all was well until this morning when I'm checking my POP3 email account. All my email downloaded no problem and I was able to read everything. When I went to send email I found that iCloud had emptied my Contacts and replaced it with iCloud contacts which essentially is the ones that I had on my phone. (My iPhone contacts are still there.) If I click the "To" field in the email it does bring up my outlook contacts that I had on my computer before the iCloud debacle and it does let me select them. However when I send them I get an immediate undeliverable message from system administrator saying:

Since I have Office 2013 w/ Outlook installed, I also have the preinstalled basic Outlook that comes to Win 8. So I guess according to iTunes I need to uninstall the generic Outlook, yet I do not see it under the control panel, where you modify or delete apps.

Like a fool I dowloaded iCloud and sent all my contacts to iCloud. Now, when I open a contact and make a notation then want to enter a reminder, I get the message "the item is in a folder that does not support reminders". Well, something like that. How can I go back to the way it was - without iCloud? I don't want iCloud. All the help is on Apple forum and I own a PC.
Can you help?
I wouldn't mind if all my information were on iCloud AND on my laptop.

Re: Outlook 2003
Is there is a way to designate a Shared Outlook Calendar (that is used as our company-wide calendar) as an individual's default calendar. We are set up with a Microsoft XP Exchange Server.
The goal is to have the company-wide calendar download to a Blackberry Curve as the user's default calendar. Right now he sees his own calendar which he does not need. We have the Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on his network computer.
As an addendum, it would be preferable that the Outlook/Blackberry user not be able to modify the office-wide Shared Calendar (should there be a way for him to see it) so that all changes still go through our calendar maven. Thank you.
I currently use Outlook 2010 for work and have a lot of appointments.
How would I sync this across to my personal Gmail calendar?

my online outlook calendar does not sync with my Windows Calendar app. I am talking about the online calendar which can be accessed after sign-in here: Prihláste sa do svojho konta Microsoft which for me used to always take all the information from my desktop calendar app, and vice-versa, when I entered an event online, it also appeared in my desktop app. This was useful for syncing with my phone and generally accessing my calendar when not having my laptop on me. This is now impossible for me to do.
Now they don't sync and it's quite annoying, I am getting desperate and thinking of using some other app (if you have tips, tell me. I went through this: Resolve sync issues in Mail and Calendar apps in Windows 10 - Office Support it did not solve the problem. I have updates on (I apply them manually). I have Windows 10 all up to date. and all settings allow calendar to be synced. I checked if I am signed in to the same account, I only have one account in the app and the same one online.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Also, I am adding a picture if it helps, on the left is my calendar, when I access it online, on the right is my Windows App. You can clearly see that there is a lot more on the right. I just want the events to appear in the online calendar as well, as they did before...

I need a calendar program for my computer since I recently upgraded my computer with student office 2007, which doesn't have outlook like the 2003 edition. Can I have any suggestions? I don't want a web based program that needs that internet to function.
Thunderbird with Lightning:
We recently made a switch from Office 2002 to Office 2007.
One of our administrative assistants made a booking in Outlook within a room calendar rather than using her personal calendar and adding the room as a resource. She now needs to change it to a different venue.
We can book it in the new venue. However, we cannot find a way to delete this event. (Compounding problem: This is also a recurring event for several weeks in a very busy room. So even though it's free, no one can book it, leading to several people thinking they have the room at the same time.)
In 2002, I would log on as the resource and delete it manually, but since the resource is set up as a room, I no longer have access.
Any thoughts from anyone?

Hi - I've just discovered I can create a rule so that all my personal emails from my friends' email addresses go into my 'Personal' Folder (I'm sure that's extremely old news ). I thought hey, great, I can make all the appoinments I'm sent go into my 'Appointments' Folder... but when I right click an Appointment, I can't see the little Create Rule option Do I have to do something different to the Appointments because they're not the same as emails or something?
You cannot create a rule for an appointment persay, but you could create a rule that looks at the type of form they have used and places all meeting items in an appointments folder.
I am a "convertee" from ACT! 6.0 to Outlook 2003 and have been having some problems adjusting my work flow.
When I make an appointment in Outlook, it lets me assign a date and time to the appointment. How do I indicate that the appointment has been "completed" without "dismissing" it, which seems to delete it entirely?
The other option I thought about was making all of my appointments, to do items, etc. as "Tasks". This will allow me to mark the item as completed, but will not allow me to assign a beginning and ending time.
Any ideas for a work around or an add on that will allow me to mark appointments or to do items as complete without erasing them?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I've got one staffer who is experiencing the following issue with Outlook 2007 calendaring.
She has a recurring appointment on Wednesday of every week. 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting, the reminder pops up. OK... this is good.
It's an hour long meeting, and 15 minutes after the end of the meeting, a reminder pops up that she is now past due to the meeting.
Then, it keeps reminding every 15 minutes and will continue to do so until the notices are ignored. It does this everyday, until the next meeting rolls around, when it starts reminding 15 minutes ahead again. Not so good.
Any thoughts as to where to start looking for the source of this oddity?

If I create the event on the pocket pc it will not sync back to the desktop

I've been dealing with a strange problem with recurring outlook appointments and can't find any information about it. I wondered if anyone could help.
It presents in 2 parts...
1. A recurring appointment was set up in Jan this year to run until the end of the year. Whenever you open a future occurrence of this appointment, regardless of the date, the start/end date shows the date the back in Jan when the app. started. These were all blank appointments for people to fill in as they get the details, but you have to manually adjust the dates or it tries to save the app. back to the first slot in Jan.
2. Some of these appointments are showing as Discussions rather than Appointments. The normal fields for start/end date/time aren't there. At the top it says "Post to: Microsoft Office Outlook Embedded Message" but I can't find out how to do it purposefully never mind change it back to an Appointment so that times can be adjusted.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Gut reaction to this would be to backup the outlook files, uninstall it and reinstall. You could also look at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/ph/2520?sid=69 and follow any appropriate links you might find there.
I am having problems with Outlook 2003. My reminders launch whenever Outlook is launched and they cannot be deleted or altered.
When I go to right click "Delete" the appointment, I get the following two error messages:

Function lpSourceFolder->CopyMessages( lpEIDs, NULL, lpWasteFolder, NULL, NULL, MESSAGE_MOVE|MESSAGE_DIALOG)
Code: MAPI_E_CORRUPT_STORE == 0x80040600
Function DeleteToDeletedItems( lpMDB, (LPMAPIFOLDER) m_lpContainer, lpEIDs)
When I go to dismiss, amend or delete any reminder I get the following message:
"Cannot turn off the reminder. You may be reminded again. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid".
On occassion I also receive an error message that states:
"Can't open this item. Errors have been detected in the file C:\Documents and Settings etc. Quit Outlook and all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more information about the Inbox repair tool, see Help."
I've tried the repair tool, including placing my CD-ROM containing my Office 2003 Edition, but receive an error message there too which states that I have an outdated version(?).
Regarding the Scanpst.exe, I try to launch that application but receive the following error message:

When I was using iCloud (I stopped because it gave me too many headaches) I deleted a recurring event and now I keep getting hundreds and hundreds of Appointment Series deletions showing in my Deleted folder.
If I do a search for one of the words in the appointment name, then delete all those items from the Deleted folder, they are not deleted and simply reappear.
Every once in a while, I have to go to my Deleted folder to find something but my deleted emails are scattered amongst these hundreds of Appointment Series deletions.
I would sure appreciate your help!!
Thanks so much.....Richard

Is there any way to assign a particular label or to enter invites to a group of appointments/meeting entries.
I have 103 meetings on my bosses calendar - all different dates and times - but they all pertain to the same thing and need to be labeled accordingly. I have used the search feature in Outlook to list them all in one place. Now if I could only highlight them all and assign the label to the group rather than go into each of the 103 individual appointments to assign the label. Also, I need to invite the same person to all of these 103 appointments.
Does anyone know if it is possible to group-label and group-invite in Outlook??
For some reason Outlook seems to be sending any appointments straight to the delete items box, if you go in there and check the item, you see where it will give you the accept or deny at the top. There are no rules setup or anything special.
How could this be happening?
I do not like windows live mail. I find that is not very good. So I set outlook up with my hotmail account. But this has 2 seperate contact lists and 2 seperate calendars. I put my contacts into the new list, but is there any way of importing this stuff into outlook so i don't have to copy it whenever i add a new thing to the calendar?
From W Mail use file and import and export. From OUtlook, it should be the same.

I have been using Outlook 2003 for many years then upgraded to 2007, which I've used for years.
Typically I would enter appointments into my calendar in my Outlook 2007 and sync that with my phone....the blueberry or iPhone 3GS....I upgraded to the iPhone4 and have put appointments into my iPhone and synced my iPhone using iTunes (which normally syncs my Outlook calendar as well).
However, I've noticed recently some appt's put into my phone were not showing up on my Outlook Calendar....more snooping and I've just tonight discovered I have another calendar named iSync-Calendar.ics! Well, that's where many of my missing appointments were found!!
So I look closer at my iPhone4 and go to settings>calendar> and look for my default calendar which is iSync-Calendar.ics!!!
I am assuming that somehow that got switched, but used to be "calendar" which was outlook.
I am hoping this doesn't happen in the future..but for now I'm displaying both Calendar and iSync-Calendar.ics on Outlook so I can see all my appointments!!
Glad I caught that tonight as I have double and tripled booked some time slots in the future not seeing them on my iPhone since default calendar was iSynch and NOT calendar and vice versa!!!
Do you think I corrected the problem? Can I sync the iSync appts into or import them into my Calendar??
