A friend recently started getting 'Windows Internet Security' popups when she visits Myspace that say the following:

"Your browser is under the threat of infection. Windows requires your permission to install online protection tool.

Your browser is run in unsafe mode. Running the protection mode will help you to keep your computer safe. Staying at the suspicious website in unsafemode may lead to the loss of personal data and computer breakage. To run the web browser in protected mode Windows requires installing the antivirus scanner software and online protection tool.

Name: Online Protection Tool
Publisher: Microsoft Windows"

Ends with an Allow or Don't Allow option.

She has been hitting Don't Allow since the message has terrible grammar and doesn't look legit. She ran scans with Malwarebytes and AVG and found a couple trojans and they were deleted without any problems but this message is still popping up every time she goes to Myspace. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello, please post the MBAM log.The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.Next run ATF and SAS:Note.. SAS doesn't open the registry hives for other user accounts on the system, so scans should be done from each user account.Note: On Vista, "Windows Temp" is disabled. To empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator".From your regular user account..Download Attribune's ATF Cleaner and then SUPERAntiSpyware , Free Home Version. Save both to desktop ..DO NOT run yet.Open SUPER from icon and install and Update itUnder Scanner Options make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):Close browsers before scanning.Scan for tracking cookies.Terminate memory threats before quarantining.Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program. DO NOT run yet.Now reboot into Safe Mode: How to enter safe mode(XP)Using the F8 MethodRestart your computer. When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu. My XP computer will use 100% CPU when visiting even very simple web pages. Any help is highly appreciated.

A:CPU usage 100% when visiting simple web pages

Hi Student,

Are you looking at the column titled CPU? Try looking at the bottom where it lists CPU Usage: Maybe?

Good Luck, Jim

The title speaks for itself. I recently set up remote desktop to my computer at work. It works fine when i actually want to connect. However when i am just surfing around the remote desktop connection(where it asks for login name and password) pops up out of nowhere. For instance when i go to check at www.comcast.net the home page pops up along the Remote Desktop login screen. It's more of an annoyance then anything else. Is there a setting i need to tweak somewhere that i've missed?

A:Remote Desktop opens when visiting certain web pages

Interesting. No one has ever heard of or encountered this problem before?

The last two times I have visited a mediafire download page, I have been redirected to a dodgy page asking me update programs such as Firefox and Java (even though I uninstalled Java over a year ago). The two domains I've seen for the page are lpmxp2.com and updowntot.com. I didn't stick around long enough to get a screenshot, but the two pages appeared to be identical with the exception of the alleged program update displayed. The first time this happened was three days ago, and the redirect only happened once that day. I visited mediafire again today, and the same thing happened.

I can't find any recent discussion on this anywhere so it doesn't appear to be a recent known problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: I ran a scan with AdwCleaner, and it found and removed this key from my registry: HKCU\Software\AppDataLow\Software. I'm going to run a Malwarebytes scan now.

A:Getting redirected when visiting mediafire download pages

ThisIsMadness91,

Is there anything else added to this:

Trend Micro was recently alerted to a possible malware detection triggered when visiting MySpace Web pages. According to reports, certain MySpace pages are being detected as Possible_HiFrm.Possible_HiFrm is a heuristic detection noted for being effective in detecting malicious iframes and redirects pointing to most of the old and some of the recent Web threats...Further analysis reveals the reported MySpace pages do contain malicious scripts that Trend Micro detects as JS_DIRESEX.A. I am not sure where I was surfing around last night, when suddenly I get bombarded with lots of webpages suddenly flashing up from nowhere!!

Now, when I go to my Myspace Inbox they come flashing up. When I logged onto my pc this morning, the pages were still there (on my pc)

they look like ordinary webpages, but the pages are all blank.
In the address bar, it says : http://88.80.5.21/62/log.php?STAGE=0&CHECIN_ID=1665360964&AFF_ID=1631674946

Is this a virus?

A:Random pages flashing up/ Myspace?

Hi,
Do you think posting a HijackThis log in this thread might help those looking to help you identify the problem? I'm not sure but it might be worth a try ...

I have some Comcast personal pages running.
Lately, it seems that many cant load these pages, they seem to hang before completing.

All known Firefox users have no problem.
Some versions of IE without the newer M$ Critical updates have no problem.

I can boot to Vista HP and read these pages via IE7 (Last updated before ~ 07.08.08)
I can boot two different XP computers using IE6, (without the latest M$ updates) and read these pages.
My main XP computer using IE6 with all the updates (except SP3) can NOT read these pages.

If you get my Drift Is this just another M$ Gotcha

Anyone know about a problem with M$ updates that would cause this ??

Apparently, Some versions of Internet Explorer doesn't like it ...
If you create a html file in M$ Word .. And leave M$ Office specific tags in it.

A:browsers crash when visiting dailymotion - ntdll.dll is the problem?

There could be a lot of things that are causing this, something that all the browsers would be using, Flash, Antivirus or other security software. But no, ntdll.dll is not the cause a lot of things use it because it is the system. So you will see it a lot in crash dumps.

Hi there

I have recently been experiencing problems with my laptop, which is running Vista. Internet explorer is regularly coming to a standstill - it effectively freezes - I can move the cursor, but it does not allow me to click on any links. This is happening almost every time I log into the internet, and usually results in having to End Task in Task Manager. It often happens when checking Yahoo email.

I noticed when it happened recently it stated in the bottom left of the screen something about trying to return info from (or connect to) yieldmanager.com.

I have checked a few forums which advise Hijackthis as the first step.

I have run a system scan, and the logfile is shown below. I hope you may be able to help, or point me in the right direction. Thanks very much for your help.

I have attached a HijackThis log file as hijackthis.txt.

I have run numerous security programs, most recently Spybot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware SE Personal, and CCleaner.

My problem is as follows:
--I go to Yahoo.com
--I select a news story
--The news story loads, but after a few seconds, I go to a Dell/Google screen that says "Sorry, we couldn't find http://ad.yieldmanager.com/st%3Fad_type." The "st%3Fad_type" part of the message can vary.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide.

A:ad.yieldmanager.com problem

Hello and welcome to TSF.

Very sorry for the long wait. If you haven't received help elsewhere and still need help, please

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.Close all applications and windows.
Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt <-this one will be minimized
Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt here.
Please attach extra.txt to your post.
To attach a file to a new post, simplyClick the[Manage Attachments] button under Additional Options > Attach Files on the post composition page, and
copy and paste the following into the "Upload File from your Computer" box:C:\Deckard\System Scanner\extra.txt

Click Upload.

What DSS will do: create a new System Restore point in Windows XP and Vista.
clean your Temporary Files, Downloaded Program Files, and Internet Cache Files, and also empty the Recycle Bin on all drives.
check some important areas of your system and produce a report for your analyst to review. DSS automatically runs HijackThis for you, but it will also install and place a shortcut to HijackThis on your desktop if you do not already have HijackThis installed.

Greetings and Welcome to The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.

I am trying to log onto my Myspace account. Instead of opening up my profile it bumps me out and says the site cannot be found. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how do I fix it?

A:Myspace problem

This will happen sometimes when there are too many people trying to access MySpace. A big trouble time is around 3:00, since that is when everyone is getting out of school.

All the kiddies go home and jump on MySpace. Just give it a little while, and it should allow you to login again.

I only have this problem with my space. A window pops up saying "a script is causing IE to run slow. If you keep running it, your computer may become unresponsive". And sure enough, it does. What's up?

I am running Win XP. I just downloaded IE7 the other day and I really like it. The only problem is that MySpace does not scroll properly. Quite specifically I will scroll with my mouse wheel (Micro Innovations Optial Mouse) and it takes about 5-10 seconds for MySpace to catch up. At that point it can take up to a full second to carry out all the scrolling that I did while I was waiting (and being impatient). Once it catches up it starts all over again and takes another 5-10 seconds to scroll.

I tried the registry edit that Microsoft offers to make web pages run like it is in IE6 but it didnt fix the problem.

My wife wants me to reinstall IE6 for the 10 minutes a day that she spends on MySpace.
HELP!

i know this probalby should be on the myspace faq, but I CANT GET TO IT! I log on, and it usually kicks me off right away. if not, it does whenever i click a link or sometimes for no apparent reason. I thought it was a site error, so i checked on three other computers and i had absolutely no problem whatsoever, so it HAS TO BE on my computer, probably in the internet settings somewheres. Any ideas?

I am using a borrowed computer until I get mine fixed. To say the least it's very outdated. It has Windows 95 on it. Everything works ok except when I try to get on myspace. When I go there it takes me to a page that has links to various myspace stuff, shows cool new videos, but looks way different from the normal home page and there isnt a place to sign in. I click on sign up and then once on that page I click on sign in and it takes me back to this same strange page. It does the same thing over and over again. I downloaded Mozilla Firefox thinking that might help, but every time I try to open the program it says it has performed an illegal operation. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had this problem once before, but then it was also affecting this site. It is now only affecting MySpace as far as I can tell. I have no idea when it started as I don't do MySpace, but my granddaughter tried to use my computer last night to view her MySpace account and couldn't.

I am attaching an image file of what I see when I try to go to MySpace. This is the same for both Firefox and IE, so I am assuming it is my system that is having the problem.

Hi MPeg3
A Few things that "might" help.
sometimes it's the smallest of things.

1. Try disabling a pop-up blocker or any other program you are using to block ads.

2. Try clearing your cache and cookies in Firefox by selecting Options from Tools on the taskbar. To clear the cookies and private data, look under the Privacy tab.

3. In the Firefox browser, select Options from Tools on the taskbar.
Under the Content tab, make sure the box that reads "Load images automatically" is checked.
Across from this box, select Exceptions. If you see the site on the list of exceptions, select the site and click Remove Site.

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

I've created a new thread for your issue here.

Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you.

Ok, i have had this problem for a while now and after repeated attempts to fix it, the problem remains. Whenever i try to view a video on Myspace i just wont play. The status bar says its loading content but the it says done and the video isn't even loaded. I don't experience this problem with any other site such as YouTube or Google, only with Myspace. Does anyone have any ideas about what to do to solve this problem? I've messaged Myspace about 2 days ago but they are really taking their sweet time in replying and i doubt they will.

This will open a screen where you can choose from 3 options (Application System and Security) Please check there for red crosses, selec them them and post the contents here.

Hi,

Welcome to TSF!!

I would recommend that you do two things. First is run all your scans. Also, You need to get this program malwarebyte.org, and then run it and see if you get any hits. If you do post back and we can work with you on it.

When I or the other users of the computer try to log into myspace, we are sent to a 'join' form, or told that our passwords aren't correct. I've had them e-mail me my password, deleted my cookies and temp internet files, and have e-mailed them for help, but after a week, no one has replied.

This wouldn't be a big deal to me, if I didn't have my older sister breathing down my neck about it.

So, if anyone has any clue as to how I can fix this, please let me know!

Thank you!

A:Myspace Login Problem

In order to solve this we need a bit more information:

1) What browser are you using?

2) Are you using a firewall, and if so which one?

Settings in both these can block cookies which would prevent your logging in. Each browser and firewall, however, has different ways of setting cookie permissions.

Ok just yesterday my computer would not let me log into myspace, it just kept saying page can not be displayed, or it would just return me to the log in page. So I instantly thought, cookies, cause if I went and quickly deleted all previous cookies while logging in, it would let me in, but once I logged out and tried again. same thing.

I tried everything, made myspace.com an allowed site, switched the security bar down to allow all cookies, even did a complete restore of windows on my computer today!!! And still the same thing....how can this be? I use a wireless internet connection and every other website I have to log into lets me in just fine, myspace.com is the only one, and the other strange thing is if i goto a proxy avoidance website, like proxy23.com or something, it lets me in just fine......I have windows xp media center on my computer, and use IE6 and if you guys need any other info from me let me, my g/f is really on my *** about this and its a really annoying problem for all the trouble ive gone through today....

thanks in advance!

I cannot log into my Myspace accounts and haven't been able to for 3 days now. I think the problem is on my end but I cannot figure out why. I've followed all of Myspace's directions for log in trouble, which include:

1. making sure I'm using the correct logoin ID and password (I am)
2. clearing cookies/cache/restarting IE and log in again (dod that many times)
3. check to see my profiles have not been removed (both are there)
4. make sure there's nothing on my page that violates their Terms of Service (there isn't)

The reason I think it is on my end is that I cannot access my profiles, and my friend cannot access his either but has no problem when he uses his computer at home. I have sent several requests to Myspace Tech support group, but they do not respond.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks!!

can anyone help, especially someone who knows german

Other things to note are:

A:Ad-aware Se Personal Problem

Try redownloading it (see link below). It could be spyware blocking it if it still won't work.

Just to make sure it's not a virus, run an online virus scan at TrendMicro or RAV Antivirus. Select the Autoclean option if you use TrendMicro. Make sure System Restore is disabled if you have Windows ME/XP.

Last night i recieved this program pop-up on my pc and i accidently downloaded it and since then my pc is all screwed up. The program is called Personal Antivirus. I first tried to remove the program from the Add/Remove programs list but it is not even in there. So a friend told me to run a combofix log and send it in. I downloaded and ran a combofix log which i have for someone to look at. The Personal Antivirus program keeps popping up notifications saying "your system is infected with version of Trojan.Win32.Agent.azsy." Then another pop-up comes up now and then saying something about malicious spyware found that is believed to be linked to people that hack your computer and steal your passwords. I swept my computer multiple times with Spy Sweeper and it identified Personal Antivirus as a big threat so i deleted it but that did not stop the problem or delete the program. I have Windows XP on my computer and have Internet Explorer 8. It is not letting me post my screenshots of the popups so this is what they say:

I need some help--I believe my son 12 year old son is visiting inappropriate website while we are at work. At the end of the night I clean out the temporary internet folder to free up space on the computer and last night I was just scan the folder and found all kinds of porn websites!! So I clean it out and when I logged on this evening the sites he normally visits are there but so where other porn sites.

Tell if Im wrong but is it true that every website you visit is recorded in the temp internet folder? and so popups get space there and when those cookies automatically go there is the computer is just left on which is what he is trying to tell me.

So is there another way to find out a list of websites that have been visited.

I really need to get these questions asked.

Thanks

Hi there, I have on my system windows xp pro service pack 2. To protect it from virus etc. I have sygate firewall, spybot, spyguard stinger, spy sweeper , microsoft antispyware, spyware guard avg, and ad aware personal. What i would like to know if u can advise me is this. Should i have turned off the firewall when i downloaded the adaware and indeed all the others? The reason i ask is that everytime i run adaware i appear to be downloading the same updates? possibly the firewall would affect downloading?

Appreciate any info, thanks

A:problem with adaware (personal) updates

When installing you should have got a notice from your firewall to accept the install, same with the updates.

I never recommend shutting down the firewall while connected to the internet.

If you are having trouble installing Ad-Aware updates.
Try to uninstall then reboot & reinstall.
Another good practice is to install a new program then reboot and open the program, install the updates.

When you install Norton Personal Firewall, you need to go through and set up rules for your software dialing out and what sites you want to allow access to your PC from the outside world. It's all contained in the Norton control panel under Internet Access Control and Firewall Settings.

Here's a screen shot of the panel. I also have SystemWorks shown, so yours may appears slightly different.

I recently tried to copy my own personal DVD, but it seems as though it always fails. The DVD driver is correct, nothing seems wrong, the program seems fine, but it seems as though, after awhile the burner just fails. It goes like 4.8 MBs/per second, and then keeps on dropping, and then the percent of the movie that was copied doesn't move or barely moves and the time that it takes to copy the DVD goes up. So, I end up having to waste my DVDs, because they aren't re-recordable. I'm not sure what the problem is. I restart my computer and they still don't burn correctly. I copied about 2 of them and they worked, but now I want to copy more, and it just seems they are always failing.

Hi all,
I use this macro to delete blank columns from exported reports:

Sub DeleteEmptyColumns()
first = Selection.Column
last = Selection.Columns(Selection.Columns.Count).Column
For i = last To first Step -1
If WorksheetFunction.CountBlank(ActiveSheet.Columns(i)) = 65536 Then
Columns(i).Delete
End If
Next i
End Sub

When I create and run it from the active worksheet it works fine, but if I create it and run it from personal.xls it deletes all the columns in the sheet whether they have data or not. Does anybody know how to get this macro to work properly from personal.xls?

Thanks!

A:Problem with running macro from personal.xls

When this macro is in Personal.xls, have you tried activating the book you want it to work on, before running it?

Also, I'm not sure your macro will actually delete columns, because you're checking for blanks at column 65536, where as I understand Excel only has 256 columns?!

I cannot do a "Program Scan" for my "Personal Firewall" in Norton Internet Security Program. It goes to 30 files which is 22 percent and then freezes. And when I ask "Task Master" to "End Task" I am told that the program is not responding. Could that be a sign that there is something wrong with my Personal (Norton) Firewall? If so, how can it be fixed?

Also, in order to be able to download the latest version of Webroot's SpySweeper, I had to turn off the Personal Firewall. Otherwise, it simply would not download properly and caused the PC to freeze altogether.

I have been working on that for almost a week and it is very annoying.

"Can't compose the list with normal underlying folders under E:\System Volume Information

This is the error message i get.

This is what I did:

I wanted to put my Documents on my Lacie HDD but I was so stupid to not put it in a specific folder, instead i put it on the whole HDD...

So after discovering my foolishness I wanted to reverse what I did...
So I went into my profile, right clicked on the Lacie icon revering to my Documents, clicked locate and I wanted to put it back where it came from and I got this error message...

I tried editing the regedit, by putting Personal from E to the original C:\Users\(My Name)\Documents

Anyone know a solution?

PS.

I'd rather not use system restore...I know that should fix it...
But I've spent most of the day tweaking Vista and I really don't want to lose hours of work.

Thanks in advance guys.

Hello,Problem:Sunbelt Personal Firewall ver. 4 (SPF) loads with a blue shield symbol in the status bar. Intermittently-- seemingly randomly, SPFs icon just disappears. When I run services.msc and select SPF, it shows that the service is "stopped". I have to click START; then I reboot the computer. This is a new behavior of SPF for past two months. I also use Webroot Spy Sweeper, NOD antivirus, a hardware router/firewall. I also run SB Search & Destroy frequently.I'm using Win XP SP2; AMD Athlon processor, 2G RAM.I did'nt notice anything out of the ordinary using Hijack This 1.99, but I'm certainly not well versed in using Hijack This.Note: often, when I leave my desk and PC to get on with other things, I'll notice the SPF service "stopped" when I return to use the computer later. (During this time I have other family members who use the PC)Sunbelt Software co. was unable to provide an answer to this problem.Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, cajam124Edit: Moved topic from XP to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

A:Problem w Sunbelt Personal Firewal

Malware is known to shutdown firewalls. Anything in the NOD logs? Posting HijackThis might be a good idea. But there might be another reason.

If this AMD is 64-bit architecture, Sunbelt firewall is not designed for 64-bit. They talk about a version in the future.

XP-SP2 is obsolete.
What version of NOD do you run. It is unlikely you need Webroot or S&D at the same time.

I have a smc router, and sometimes i need to change the ip address on my dmz zone to connect to xbox live games (or it takes forever to get into games). anyway, since yesterday i can't get into the devices webpage to change my settings, everytime i try it just keeps the "internet explorer cannot display webpage".
so im wondering if there is another way to change these settings? or why is it saying that? we had a storm yesterday so I figured maybe its down due to that, but i can't imagine it not being fixed as of yet.
thanks in advance.

A:is there a way to get into my router without visiting the webpage?

we had a storm yesterday so I figured maybe its down due to that,Click to expand...

It may have damaged the router
you could try resetting the router - there will be a reset button on the back, this will take it back to factory condition, however, that will mean resetting all the settings, and if it resets and still will not let you log into the router, then you will probably no longer have any internet access, as you can not set this up....

If you have the Setup CD that may have come with the router - you maybe able to access the settings via setup CD.

Hello all,
I am having a problem with all of the browsers on my computer directing to a spam search site when I try to visit certain websites.

I believe the problem started when I installed this software to help me switch audio output very easily:
http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/65079-anyway-use-hotkeys-switch-sound-output.html

I've done the following:
1) Run updated Malware bytes Anti Malware
2) Run TDSS Rootkit Remover Tool by Kaspersky.
3) Run Virus Remover Tool by Kaspersky.
4) Reset my cookies in Chrome.
5) Read the "Before posting a log" on this forum (the sticky post).
6) Updated my notification options as recommended.
I could not run GMER as I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.

I've attached my DDS/Attach/Hijack logs.

Hi, thought I'd see if all is well on the folk's PC, since I'm not up close and personal with it like this often. For one thing I think the google toolbar entries are different than they are on other machines I have it on. (Mainly want to make sure nothing sinister is going on, but would also be interested in shutting off everything that can be. For example I did install Windows Messenger and enable Remote Assistance since we are going to try that when the need arises after I leave again, but assume I should figure out how to keep Windows Messenger from being on all the time. It's not enabled in msconfig or anything.)

Hello wise ones,

I often have guests staying w/ me from around the world that I know little about other than intuition, what is on their profile and written references from other hosts. Through www.couchsurfing.com

I am very concerned letting them use my PC as they may download a virus or install a key logger. (Kapersky is installed and shows up under the guest identity on XP. But I think perhaps they could turn it off and bypass it?)

What would be the best way to allow them computer access?

1. Get an old PC for them to use? (if they are on my router can they access my other PC's personal information? If so how do I limit them from accessing my PC info?)

2. Install a software program like used at a Internet Cafe?

Any other ideas?

Kind Thanks!

The other day I was just following some links to a couple of sites, one was free6.com and the other nudeamateurhoes.com and now I have a weird icon on my taskbar. The icon itself says curse when moused over but has no way to exit the icon like the others on my task-bar.

Anyone every experience this problem and is it related to the sites or did I get it some other way.

Btw I did manage to find it and it in my programs folder and it is called curse.exe but when I try to delete it I am told I dont have access rights or something like that to delete this file.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've been using Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall for a short while now and figured out most of it but am having troubles with it refusing to let Hotmail load. I have put Hotmail into the exceptions list and even put it in as *hotmail and hotmail* and done the same for the other pages that hotmail loads up for checking emails etc but nothing seems to work.

The weird thing is that any other page I have put into exceptions has worked fine.

Could someone please help out on this?

This morning I rec'd notice of the availability of an update for my Zone Alarm Pro. I downloaded it but when I attempted to install it I got a warning that I already had Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5 installed; that the 2 aren't compatible; and that I should first uninstall the latter. So I went to Add/Remove Programs, in Control Panel, but was unsuccessful in removing Kerio. I then went into Program Files and manually deleted the program from there. Going back to Add/Remove it still shows there and again an attempt to remove it from there failed. Finally, I went back to the Zone Alarm Pro update thinking it would recognize and accept my manual deletion from Program Files, but it still contends that Kerio is on my system. Any suggestions as to how to handle the problem now?

Greetings from Finland!

Thanks for a very useful page!

After a visit on a warez-page the weirdest things happened to my computer..
Luckily, it seems like most of them are gone now, thanks to this page! I found the program HijackThis and were able to get
rid of some annoying stuff, for instance that "http://ehttp.cc/?". What is that by the way?

One thing is still bothering me though and believe that's because of the same warez-page. It's kind of strange acctually...
Some pages (for instance http://www.suprnova.org/ and http://www.aftonbladet.se/) started to run REALLY slow! And it doesn't
seem to have anything to do with the internet connection itself; when i check Task Manager-->Performance-->CPU Usage, it's
like 100%! Despite I don't do anything!
What is the problem and moreover, how do I fix it? Would it help you if I posted one of those "hijack-logs"?

Thanks in advance!
(Feels good to know that all skilled people out there aren't evil hackers )

I think this is the website where the malware came from, but I'm not sure. I've included the URL here, in case it helps someone figure out what my problem is.

I didn't click on any of the advertisements or install any new programs or download any files. But within 5 minutes of my visiting the page, popups began to rapidly show up. I usually use FireFox, but they were coming from Internet Explorer. They were coming very fast- maybe 20 within as many seconds, so I unplugged my wireless router and forcibly disconnected my computer from the internet.

I used another computer to look up tutorials on how to get rid of a malware problem, and downloaded recommended programs. I also edited the registry myself and deleted registry keys that were obviously associated with the malware that hadn't been there before (named things like "vvxxasjdfdsf.exe" and such) but this malware is obviously beyond my limited expertise, because it is still there.

My computer hasn't been connected to the internet since. (I'm using a different computer to post here.)

When the computer's on, Internet Explorer attempts to connect to the internet every few minutes. For the first few minutes where I didn't realize I had a problem, I'm pretty sure it connected to more malware sites and downloaded more crap onto my computer. Spybot seems to have gotten almost everything, except for the very stubborn root problem, which Spybot says is "Smitfraud.C"

Hi all. Ive been battling this issue for a few days now. whenever i visit sites such as myspace or espn.com, when im either searching around on the sites my computer will lock up. i can hear it processing information as if it were getting sent massive amounts of information, yet when i check the sites on another computer in my house i dont have these issues. i tried disabling javascript and it worked for part of the problem, but when i started to search the website further, i encountered the issue again. This occurs with both internet explorer and firefox, and my flashplayer and windows media player are both updated. ive searched my computer with spybot and adaware.

A:Computer locking up when visiting certain sites

Try reseting you security permissions. Goto tool > internet options > security tab. Click on default level, then set it to low hit apply, then move it right back to medium and hit apply. This will put it back to microsoft recommended settings. let us know if that works.

I'm usually a lot smarter than this.. but I read someones post in a forum about how a website has set up a popular game, San Andreas Multiplayer, in a frame that remotes a machine so you can play in the browser. The game is a bit more involved than a typical browser game, so of course i figured it would be unplayable at best, but curiosity got the best of me and I visited the site.I immediately figured out that it was just a video of someone logging into a server, and i was most likely being infected while watching.. I checked around and saw some minimal info about the site including this post:http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=538035The site I visited was: www, sampfreeonline,tk .. which points to: samponlinefree, orq,pl(dots were replaced with commas so no one clicks by accident)Can anyone verify if this is indeed a malicious site.. I'm thinking I have a keylogger installed now and its just waiting for me to join a server... ..or even worse..Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Welcome aboard  There is not much info about those sites.  Download Security Check from here or here and save it to your Desktop. Double-click SecurityCheck.exe Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box. A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.NOTE 1. If one of your security applications (e.g., third-party firewall) requests permission to allow DIG.EXE access the Internet, allow it to do so.NOTE 2 SecurityCheck may produce some false warning(s), so leave the results reading to me. Please download Farbar Service Scanner (FSS) and run it on the computer with the issue.Make sure the following options are checked:
