Q: Microsoft Office Word 2003 problem

For almost a month iam having this problem.Whenever i paste any words in Microsoft Office Word 2003......a Popup comes saying :Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003and then it pastes. It is annoying. Each time when i paste,it comes.msiexec.exe runs in the process.I disabled it in services. Then no problem in pasting.I installed a software later, then it asked for windows installer as it is needed. Then once again i enabled it.How to stop that popup from coming without disabling msiexec.exe ?

A: Microsoft Office Word 2003 problem

I have seen several suggestions for dealing with this problem, some work for some people, others don't and
some of them are potentially destructive, in my opinion, therefore I do not propose to supply any links.

However, I will tell you that I had the same problem recently. I run Office 2003 Professional Edition and
downloaded the Office 2007 trial. It was not for me and I uninstalled it. My problems then started,
with these 'Please wait while Windows configures' messages.

I tried all the usual 'repair' methods, but the only thing which fixed the problem was a complete
uninstall and reinstall of Office 2003. That would be my only suggestion and in addition,
I left the setup files on my hard disk, when asked, because there are some features that are not
immediately installed by the program, even on a full install and it saves digging out the CD/DVD
whenever you come across these features. (Don't remember too clearly which ones, I think it
may have been in connection with Publisher).

I appreciate this may be stating the obvious. If you can find an easier method, which you trust,
good luck.

btw, I am assuming that your computer is virus, adware, malware and spyware free.
You should run something like Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpware if you haven't
checked recently; presumably you have a realtime antivirus scanner.

Hi,
I'm having this problem with Microsoft Word.
I has never happen before and it doesn't happen with other office program like PowerPoint or Excel. Just Microsoft Word.

My Office is: Microsoft Office Word 2003 (11.5604.5606)
Part of Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003

The problem is when I'm using my Khmer Font (Limon) and I type a certain letter (only this one letter) which use Ctrl + Alt + T it change my font to Time New Roman size 10 and the cursor also change appearance.
I'm attaching the pictures of screenshot and logs I scan with MBAM and CCleaner. Although I don't think it's virus problem.
Please help me.

Thanks,
Rasmey

A:Microsoft Office Word 2003 Problem

Sorry on the go

But all it is. Is that you have size 10 and then size 22 after it

I can't explain it clearly it's 10 10 10 10 10 22 22 22
And when you backspace the 22 size it stays 22 until you make it size10 again
As for that little dot, it must be the font at that size, or something

Hello there.

Microsoft office 2003 problem.
When starting microsoft word on vista ulitmate, there seems to be a problem

This will automatically shut down, saying there was a problem and is shutting down...
The other programs seem fine, Excel, powerpoint, etc.

I havent a clue what this could be, has anyone else had this problem.
In the top right corner of microsoft word it will say "Finalizing Installation" and then after you type a couple of sentences it will shut down on its own..

This is for a friend of mine, who had microsoft office put on when she bought the laptop of a friend, though she does not have the disk, so i wondered if this is an installation problem.

Would this be some sort of copy of microsoft office 2003, that was put on for her
She has only found this out now as her son needs to use word for school
( vista ultimate, 64 bit, sp2)

A:Microsoft office 2003/ Problem with Word

I assume that you're opening up Word from the Start menu here...

Open up the Start Menu and go to Word. Right-click on it. Open up its Compatability tab which is the third tab.

2003 is an XP product. Therefore, Word (and Excel and Access if they're 2003 versions) should be run in compatibility mode for "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)."

If this is not so, check the box and select Windows XP from the list to make it so amd OK the box to close it.

See if it runs now.

if you go to Add/Remove Programs, (Start, Control Panel or (My Computer Then Control Panel) The Double Click On Add/Remove Programs, Then Go Down To Microsoft Office) Click On Change Then A New Window Will Open And Click On Repair. That Should Work. If Not Put You Windows Disk In And When It Opens Click On Repair.

I'm having a strange problem with Microsoft Word 2003 SP3.

It only happens on new docs. I'm a writer and when I open ongoing projects in Word everything is fine, but when I open a new doc. my Page Setup doesn't work. If I set it to have 1" of space top, bottom and sides, it doesn't work on the top. My first line starts at the very top of the page.

Also, the ruler up the left side should be dark where that top inch of space should be, but it isn't because it's not working. I discovered a temporary fix in Page Setup by setting the top space to be 2" and the sides and bottom to be 1". However, even doing this I don't get the dark inch or so at the top of my left margin ruler.

I did a repair in ADD Remove Programs but it didn't change anything. It might be a corruption in Word because I have the same Office 2003, SP3 on my laptop and I've compared all the settings on both computers and they appear to be identical.

Has anyone here run into this problem, and do you think uninstalling and reinstalling Office might solve the problem?

Thanks in advance.

I was using Microsoft word early this morning and something happened and now it won't open.

Of all my desktop icons, everything has color except the Microsoft is WHITE, which I suspected right away had been compromised.

I don't have any Microsoft word software, it came with my computer.

I've run into a bit of a weird issue with my Microsoft Word. Whenever I highlight/select text, and press any button (space, "x", backspace, delete, etc.), instead eliminating all that text and performing the action that I pressed, the text just stays in place as if I never highlighted in and the action is carried out at the beginning of the selection. I've never seen anything like this before, and I'm really not sure how to search in the help function for it, so does anyone have any idea how I might fix this? Let me know if you need more information or anything and I'll be happy to share. It's just a very irritating, very bizarre issue. Thanks!

Just recently something has changed with my Microsoft Office Word 2003 app.

I'm a writer and I have always been able to drag my pages that I have written today to a folder in My Documents and the same file would stay on my desktop for immediate access later. I realize other may not work this way but it is how I prefer to work as it has become my habit

When I try to drag and drop it now, it drops into the My Documents folder but it no longer remains on the desktop.

Now, in conjunction with this problem, I have another new problem, which is that when I write a page of text in Word and save it to a My Documents folder it doesn't go there. Also when I save a picture to My Pictures as I've always done it won't be there when I look for it. Something is preventing me from saving things and I haven't a clue what it is. I have to open the My Documents folder and drag the Word text page into it. It's the only way I can save stuff for some reason.

Can someone please tell me how I can fix this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Good afternoon people,

Firstly, I would like to say hello to everyone who've helped me in the past with my Access help. It's been a long absence with study commitments and such, but as is the purpose of this group, I would like to ask for some tech help:

The situation: Microsoft Word (as part of Office 2003 Professional Edition) frequently closes without user notification on my dad's laptop (Windows Vista Basic). It's recently started, and it interrupts his work. He says that the issue occurs when he minimises documents, but he didn't indicate a frequency of this occurrence. He also told me that once he successfully saves a document and closes Word, he then encounters issues when opening said document; it says that the file has been "corrupted" (I can't remember exactly what the dialog box says), and that the data can be recovered, or to proceed with opening the document. Data recovery doesn't work, and when he proceeds to open the document, Word returns "Program not responding" and "Critical error caused by the program" and other prompts of this nature, which then forces the program to quit.

I am aware that a similar problem is in the Microsoft Knowledge Base for Word 2003, but was last revised in 2004 (so covered only xp and 2000), and am not certain if this issue is the same for Windows Vista. It related to the "Handwriting Recognition" program.

Additionally, as always, there are a multitude of ... Read more

Microsoft Updates roll back my personal settings. Following a crash, I reinstalled the OS and several applications including Microsoft Office Professional 2003. I spent a long time amending the personal settings; and changing the desktop background wallpaper, folders options, start-up preferences on utilities such as Uniblue ?PowerSuite?, and so on. Everything was working excellently! Then I went to Microsoft Update. There were 21 critical updates which I duly downloaded and installed. When I restarted my computer I was utterly horrified to find that all my changes had been annulled. The computer worked all right, but I was ?back to square one?. Mistakenly thinking that some inadvertent act on my part had done the damage, I wiped my hard disk and repeated the whole reinstallation process, including amending personal settings. Once again, all was fine ?. until I downloaded and installed the Microsoft updates!!!

I feel sure that one or more of the Microsoft updates are causing the trouble. Having reinstalled everything (for the third time!), I shall next do a ?custom? Microsoft update.

Can anyone advise me which of these Microsoft updates I should avoid (i.e., uncheck in the list)?

The computer is a Packard Bell EasyNote GN45 with 1GB of RAM and a new 160GB Western Digital hard drive. The OS is Windows XP Professional (SP3).

I can't exactly tell you why this seems to work but in my experience I have always downloaded or installed the Windows updates prior to installing anything else such as other programs. Based on your explanation as to the computers bad behavior and the fact that you attempted the same process twice with the identical results I would suggest that you do the clean format and clean install then installing the updates prior to any other program installation.

Hi, I've been having this problem with MS Word 2003 for a little bit.

What happens is, I open the application, and the Word box pops up like it's about to open like it should, but then it takes forever to open, maybe over 10 minutes or so, unless I just end the process like I usually do since it takes so long.

The only thing I've noticed different about anything when I open it is, Navw32.exe starts running, and if i end that, an alert window opens that says "The document C:\Documents and Settings\David Solis\Application Data\Microsoft\Normal\Templates.dot is still infected. Do you want to delete this file?". I'll click no, and Word opens.

Any idea what any of this is, why it's doing it, and how to stop it? Thanks!

well when you get to 1000 i think Word is adjusting Left, & Hanging/First Line Indentation ...... e.g. when you start from number 1 .... Word usually sets to Left = 0.25, Hanging/First Line 0.25.

You can adjust it according to your needs by changing those values. Goodluck

In both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, when I do a "File, Open" command, a box comes up showing the contents of the last directory I used. If I then attempt to use the drop down from this box to navigate to a new directory, it takes 65 seconds before the drop down list appears, and then another 30-40 seconds before the drop-down menu responds to my request for a new directory.

I have uninstalled and re-installed Microsoft office, and I have run the "detect and repair" option in the help menu. Nothing seems to fix the problem. I have no idea why this is happening or what Microsoft Office is doing during those 65 seconds to produce the drop down list and during the following 30-40 seconds to navigate to a requested directory in the drop down list.

I do not have this problem with other applications such as Lotus 123.

Any ideas?

For many days i had this problem.Whenever i paste any words in Microsoft Office Word 2003......a Popup comes saying :Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003and then it pastes. It is annoying. Each time when i paste,it comes. msiexec.exe runs in the process.I disabled it in services. Then no problem in pasting.I installed a software later, then it asked for windows installer as it is needed. Then once again i enabled it.So i wanted to stop that popup from coming without disabling msiexec.exe. But that is not possible. Also in control panel, The options - change or remove is not there for Microsoft Office Word 2003. It is like that for many days.I dont know how they disappeared.I dont know what problem it is.In Microsoft Office Word 2003 under Help option, when i click Detect and Repair....It says Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 setup failedToday i uninstalled Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 and reinstalled. Now the problem is too worse. Now whenever i open Microsoft Office Word 2003 or Yahoo messenger or MSN messenger, that same old popup comes :Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003Eventhough i cancel that popup, OSE.exe and msiexec.exe runs in the process. So each time i have to end the process OSE.exe and msiexec.exe when i use Microsoft Office Word 2003 or Yahoo messenger or MSN messenger. Its very annoying. Can anyone help ?

This assumes that your system is not infected.Caution is advised - at your own risk.As it involves a registry edit, backup up your registry first with a program such as ERUNT:http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/and you may also want to create a system restore point.See this link:Some applications in Add/Remove Programs list are missing Change and Remove buttons:http://www.winxptutor.com/arpbuttons.htmThe two mentioned items, NoRemove and NoModify, have to be set to 0, not 1.This should fix the Change and Remove buttons in Add /Remove.I have only ever fixed the "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003"message, by uninstalling and reinstalling the whole package from a genuine Office disk.pro11.msi [Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003] is the .msi installer file required.I also ensured that I went to Windows Update afterwards and got them all.Defrag your disk before reinstalling.Use the latest version of the Windows Installer:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=enWindows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) is worth getting, if not already installed.NOTE:OSE.exe is a process belonging to the Microsoft Office Suite which adds additional installation support during CD install and web updates. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.MSIEXEC.exe belongs to the Windows Installer Component and is used to install new programs that use W... Hi All....

I am running Win XP Professional, And Microsoft office 2007 2007 Enterprise... Works Great, But with word, We are getting a config screen and then a dialogue that says this:

"An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Please run Setup and select 'Repair...' to restore this application"

Now i assumed that this was due to the fact that this was a student account. We then upgraded the account to Domain Admin, and we are getting the same error.

This is in an enterprise, and if we were to repair the Word File, We would have to do it on all 18 computers on said domain.

Is there an alternative?

Here's a problem I haven't seen a solution for.

I couldn't find my MS Office CD when I installed a new HD. So, I installed OpenOffice v2. 4When I found the CD for MS Office 2003, I loaded it and then unistalled OOv2.4. Now, everything about MS Office except Microsoft Office Word works correctly. When MSWord is opened, a error message says "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close." There is a check marked box that says, "Recover my work and restart Microsoft Office Word." If the box is unchecked, MS word does not open, If left checked, MS Word opens but no documents are "recovered" and documents cannot be opened from MS Word. Only by going to Windows Explorer / MY Documents can Word documents be opened. MS Word cannot be uninstalled, either. Reloading MS Office 2003does not resolve the problem. Fortunately, all the documents created in or converted by OpenOffice v2.4 converted to MS Word. Any suggestions appreciated.

I have created in Microsoft Word 2003 on an XP OS some lengthy documents. I created them using a view setting of 150%.

I sent them to my employer, who is using Windows 98 and Microsoft Word 97. My boss opened them with his system and they displayed on the screen at a view of 200%. He wants me to send him Word documents that he can open from the CD-R that I send that will automatically display at 100% view on the screen so that he does not have to set the view for each document as it displays.

So what is the answer.

Is there a way that I can save my created documents so that when my boss gets them on a CD-R that they will open on his system at a view setting of 100%.

Is there also a way that his system can be set to default to 100% in reading from the CD-R.

My boss does not want to copy the documents to the system hard disk from my sent CD-R, preferring to read and copy directly from the CD-R that I send, so that the original documents will not accidentally be changed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all

I am using Windows XP and office 2003. I am using Microsoft Office Picture Manager to view tif files.

PROBLEM:

1. I open a tif file.
2. I make an annotation change eg: Use the hightlighting tool to hightlight some text. Fine, no problem!
3. I save the document.
4. I close the document and try reopening it:

I get this error:

"The file selected is not a valid Microsoft Document Imaging file"

I recreated my Windows XP profile and this resolved the problem

That was two weeks ago........now the problem is back!

Any ideas?

I recently installed the Microsoft Office 2010 Beta, but this morning its intro screen stays stuck at "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run." Googling it resulted in only two threads, neither of them having the answer.

I'm back to using Office 2007, by simply setting my Word and Excel documents to open by Office 2007 by default, but now my Word and Excel icons have become much less pretty, such as my Word icons becoming a very plain "DOCX" icon instead of the normal "blue W" icon. I checked, and the file types are still regular Word documents. Is there a way to get the pretty icons back?

A:Office 2010 Problems: "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run" & Unattractive DOCX icons for Word documents.

Regarding changing the icon:
Go to either My Computer or Windows Explorer.
Click Tools, Folder Options, File Types tab.
Scroll down to the DOCX file type (file types are in alphabetical order), click on it one time to highlight it.
Click the Advanced button.
The "Edit File Type" screen appears.
There is a Change Icon button in the top right area.
Click the Change Icon button.
You should have other icon choices to pick from.
Side note: If you don't like any of those icons, you can always hit the Browse button,
and browse to where other icons are, (you can assign any icon to any file type that you want, it is a matter of personal preference).
Icons are found in .exe files (executables), some (not all) .dll (dynamic link library) files, and .ico files.

Ok, so here's the story: everytime I open a document in MSWord 2003, its fine, opens and works and I can type and do whatever. The first time I save the file, it saves properly, however, if I CTRL+S again, it asks me to specify what file I want to save it as, and when I try to save it as the one I have open, it errors me, saying that the file that I have open is a read-only file. That's weird, because in the properties I can clearly see that its not read-only.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I un and reinstalled on my PC but the problem continues. Any help will be greatly appreciated =]

Thanks in advance.

BTW I am using XP and the in the blue bar of the open document it says "DocumentName (Read-Only)" after I try to save it for the second time.

Hi everybody,

I have two probs. & hope someone knows the solution(s).

1. Have successfully installed Office 2003 into Win 7. To date (the last 3 weeks, that is,) I have none of the crashes, stops, error messages, etc. that some people here have. Outlook 2003 is working fine and Word 2003 does, too, in Win 7 (fingers crossed) . I only have a minor annoyance, though: In Word 2003, I cannot get the little "office assistant" to appear like I could in XP. When I try, the message comes up:"...requires Microsoft Agent 2.0 or later". Where the hell do I get Microsoft Agent 2.0 (or later)? I do like the little characters, though I suppose I could exist without them. Any suggestions?...

2. My username will probably appear here as FLYUERBOB. When I registered I accidentally mistyped it - should be FLYERBOB. I've tried the "change profile" field, but it doesn't provide for modification of username. I really don't fancy re-registering just to exclude a miserable "U". How can I change this with my current registration?

Many thanks for any help.

My trial version of office expires march 31st and I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a product key (big ripoff ). Is there any way to get another key??

A:Microsoft Office 2003

Steve,

I am pretty sure, if there is a way, that you wont find it here as this is not a site that encourages piracy or software activation hacks. Neither will you find password hack advice regardless of genuity of your inquiry.

I think that the only way to get Office on your computer legally is to purchase the key for it. If you know of any friends who have kids in college or school, or indeed if you or anyone in your family is completing education full time, you can get Office at discount for students and teachers which consists of sending to Microsoft an officially stamped and signed verification form (which is in the box you buy). Once MS have verified that the information is genuine, they will send you the prod key/install cd's.

I'm sure this hasn't been much help but its the only way round your budgetary problem and will keep your copy of Office legal.

If you install a pirate version or one without credentials, you may not be able to get any support or download updates or patches if you have problems and such installations could cause problems with other elements of Windows. Its alot of money for the real McCoy but the peace of mind for having genuine software in my opinion is priceless.

If you have an older version of Office try to stick with it for a while if 2003 is too expensive but whatever you do don't cut corners else you'll find yourself posting more advice requests in more technical areas of this forum at a later date and your Offi... Read more

I am running windows Xp and I have office 2003 installed. I like to make cards and invitations and prepare my photos for printing in office. Because I text wrap them to move them or size them I cannot copy and paste.
What I do not like is that when I save them or e-mail them they stay in the office page with all the tool bars and such. When I go to where they are saved they are in a doc box that has to be opened. It takes away from my creations to have them surrounded by all the toolbars and things.
Lately I have been printing and then scanning and saving, but this seems a round about way of doing things, not to mention the waste of ink. Is there a better way? Does anyone know how I can remove just my creations for E-mailing or to save?

I am have a TON of problems with Microsoft Office 2003 (Mainly Word and Excel). This is a work computer I am on, and I do most of my work in both of those applications (naturally, they are the ones with the problem). My problem comes after I open or try to open any application in word or excel. It will act like it is "thinking" but will then freeze up. I have to "End the process" every time. It also becomes a problem when I need to print a document because it will freeze up in the middle of trying to print.

Does anyone have any idea of what is going on with my computer?? Is there any way to fix this mess?!?! I am VERY much in need of these applications right now!

Whenever i take the cursor to the middle of an already written paragraph to add something to the sentence, as i write, all the words after what i am writing disappear/ are simultaneously being deleted.

I cannot enter sytem restore as it tells me the programme is not recognised, the only way i can clear my system is to uninstall office 2003. please help

A:microsoft office 2003

Well. Try reinstalling the program by going to the .exe installer of 2003,

right clicking on it -> going to properties -> compatibility tab-> set to Vista.

If it doesn't work do it again, and set the compatibility to Windows XP SP2

Microsoft has stopped supporting Office 2003. I am not crazy about getting the latest version. The main reason for not wanting to get the newest is first cost and also I have 10 years of more of MS Word that uses the .doc format. Many of these I update fairly often.

Does anyone know what the last version of Word that used the .doc format?

Thank you

A:Microsoft Office 2003

I have (had) Office 2003 Professional. I have started using Libre Office and so far no problems for word documents and for existing Publisher documents that I have.

I have been looking at other e-mail programs. I've been trying Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail. So far Thunderbird is slightly ahead but I haven't settled on a replacement for Outlook 2003.

Today, I was in an office doing some networking on a 24-computer+ network and I saw someone installing Microsoft Office 2003 AIO. What is AIO? Also, on its initial installation screen where you choose what to install, there were the following choices:
Microsoft Office 2003
Visio 2003
Microsoft Project
Front Page
One Note
And an option to create stand-alone ISOs.
What kind of disk is this? I've never seen anything like it.

Hi Guy's:

I'm working on a word document (work in progress) which I will want to send as an email attachment.

When I save it I get a MS Word Privacy Warning saying, may contain macros, active x, XML expansion pack info, or web components. Can't remove via File Save on security tab setting remove private information on save..... or words to that effect.

As I am including copy/paste email messages and web based text from forums as needed it no doubt does have this privacy info.

Question:

How do I remove all private information in this document before sending it?

If I covert it to a pure text format and work it there and copy back to word will that work?

Please advise based on actual experience doing this, thanks.

I'm considering buying another license for word 2003 to use on another computer. I'm confused about oem versions available. I thought oem versions couldn't be used except on the computer they came on, but that might be the software versions that are only installable via recovery cds and not the software that comes on its own disc or on its own disc in its own box.

Outletdeal.com has an Office 2003 Professional OEM for sale. They have OK web of trust, norton and macafee scores and were included in a nextag search, so I think they are legit. Assuming it's ok to buy an oem version, what is the difference between buying an OEM vs full version? They also sell academic versions. Should one only purchase an academic version if one fits Microsoft's criteria to purchase an academic version?

Thanks for any assistance.

A:question on buying oem word or office 2003

You cannot buy standalone OEM software legally. They come with hardware. However, Outletdeal and similar places legally sell it by including the hardware it's bundled with. In other words, they are advertising the software but what you get is the software AND the hardware it comes with. For example, Roxio is often bundled with CD/DVD drives. You buy Roxio OEM, you get a qualifying drive that it ships with. So yes, this is legal as long as they are shipping everything as the package it is licensed for.

Another thing with OEM is that the software is only supported by the vendor, not the software company. Outletdeal offers installation support as is required. I have no experience with them so I don't know anything about the quality or extent of the support.

Some OEM software does not qualify for an standard upgrade path. This can vary depending on the software, and full versions are usually upgradeable. Outletdeal states that their OEM offerings are upgradeable but I have no way to verify this or find out what, if any, stipulations there are.

If you qualify for an academic version of software, you will be asked to provide proof that you are a student or an authorized representative of an educational institution in order to purchase it. Usually this is either a purchase order from the school, a student or faculty ID or something similar. As long as you meet all the requirements of the academic licensing, then you are entitled to full support, etc.

Hope this helps.

I was creating a document which pulled fields that are entered in ALL CAPS so I used the \*Caps to change the case to capitalize First letter of each word in the field. I created & tested it on a workstation without Office SP-2 loaded & it worked fine. But on workstations with Office SP-2 loaded there are issues. On some workstations the field switch works fine if the field only has letters in it & on others it doesn't work at all. Any suggestions?

One of the accounts on my Vista system has problems loading Word 2003. The other Office 2003 Apps work fine. Every other time I start Word I ger a window asking me if I want to start Work in Safe Mode. If I answer yes it starts if I answer no it pops up a window that it faile to load and searches for a fix followed by an abort of the Application. The next time I open word it fails. Word 2003 on other user accounts on the same computer work fine. This started after I connected to the Microsoft 5000 Bluetooth Mouse. I tried to remove the bluetooth driver and it did not fix the problem. I think it is a problem with the specific user profile but I don't know how to remove of rebuild the user profile on Vista. On XP I could just delete the user profile and the system would rebuilt the profile and that seemed to fix many problems.

Just rec'd Office 2003 and clicked on a feature that allows me to hover over a word in IE with the mouse and a translation of the word appears in Spanish in a little window that pops up.

It's a cool feature, except I forgot how to turn it on and off and want to know how to change it to German.

Also, is there any way I can get notified by email about responses to questions?

I used to have Works and I used it to print envelopes. Now I have Office Word 2003 and cannot get an envelope to print.

I type in my return address, for envelopes where I just want a return address, and I pick the picture that shows the envelope with the front down and the flap pointing to the right. That's how I put my envelope in the printer.

Then I click Print and the envelope goes about halfway in and stops. I click on the X on my HP printer to make it come out and it does, blank.

How can I get an envelope printed in MS Office Word 2003?

Thanks.

When I sent a message and when I was using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, I had an option that enabled me to add a photo following or preceding my text. This option enabled me to put a photo in the text area and place text under or above the photo explaining the photo. I am now running Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 using Windows Home Premium 64 bit and I cannot find this option. If this is no longer an option, how can I place a photo in the text area and then follow with text explaining the photo? If this is not possible, I guess this new version is a downgrade!
Thanks in advance and I will appreciate an answer.

I have a problem because I need to learn to use microsoft access for a test and the thing is I have Microsoft Office 2007 while the school has Offcie 2003. I really need to know if it is possible to switch from Microsoft Office 2007 back to Microsoft Office 2003 and how?

A:Microsoft Office 2007 -> 2003?

I don't know if it is possible to revert, but would the school be willing to allow you to download access 03 for home use as you are a student there? I know that at least some colleges allow this. If you haven't already asked them it won't hurt to do so.

edit: if they did allow this you would probably have to promise to uninstall the program when no longer a student.

I have office 2003 pro, but only installed, Word 2003, Excel 2003, Outlook 2003 and Publisher 2003 as they are only what i use. My problem is outlook 2003, when i open to do a message i get this message "Microsoft Word is set to be your email editor. However, Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook. The Outlook email editor will be used instead. An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not correctly installed" i don't know what is wrong but Word is installed and is working fine just that Outlook is having problems with it. Since i had un-installed office and re-installed it didn't resolve this problem how can i set OUtlook's email editor instead of Word to avoid this annoying message?

A:Microsoft Office 2003 Professional

Strange to have problems after installation. In case you haven't done it:
Run Outlook.
Tools > Options > Mail format.
Check the format dropdown for whatever you want, I suspect plain text.
Next two checkboxes which refer to two possible Word2003 formats should be unchecked.

Just installed Office 2003 Professional on my laptop last night. I opened up Outlook and began to set up an email account for my "work" email via Microsoft Exchange Server. Well I suppose I did not input the information correctly, because now I get errors stating that my folders are not available, etc. That's all fine. The problem is that Outlook closes as soon as I "OK" or "cancel" these error messages. I can't even get into the program to delete this account. I have uninstalled Outlook and re-installed with no success. HELP!!!!!
