Your Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log indicates you are using an outdated database version. Please update it through the program's interface (preferable method) or manually download the definition updates and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. Then perform a new Quick Scan in normal mode and check all items found for removal. Don't forgot to reboot afterwards. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. When done, click the Logs tab and copy/paste the contents of the new report in your next reply.Your database shows 1979. Last I checked it was 1989.Mbam-rules.exe is not updated daily. Another way to get the most current database definitions if you're having problems updating, is to install MBAM on a clean computer, launch the program, update through MBAM's interface, copy the definitions (rules.ref) to a USB stick or CD and transfer that file to the infected machine. Copy rules.ref to the location indicated for your operating system. If you cannot see the folder, then you may have to Reconfigure Windows to show it.XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareVista: C:\Documents and Settings\Users\All Users\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

I've been having popups in the lower left and right of my pc.  I ran malwarebytes and the popups still persist.  I thought I needed to remove the 5 things that it quaranitned so I did as was still getting these things.  Now the internet explorer screens look different.  mostly white.  It is hiding areas that can be clicked but I knwo they are there because the pointer goes from an arrow to the hand when I acroll over.  the worst thing is that the popups are still there.  Not sure where to go or what to do. Your site helped me on another issue I had in the past.  Oh I tried system restore and it didnt help the screen..I think the only system restore point was after all the above.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Malicious Website Blocking (IP Protection) is part of the Protection Module in the Pro version and works after it is enabled. When attempting to go to a potential malicious website, Malwarebytes will block the attempt and provide an alert. An outgoing IP alert indicates that a process on the system tried to load a malicious IP and was prevented from loading content. No action is required unless you're also experiencing malware symptoms or there are multiple IPs. A browser does not have to be running...just an active Internet connection with processes running. Notification that an outgoing IP address has been blocked does not necessarily mean the computer is infected. Some legitimate programs on your computer (i.e. iTunes, Instant Messenger client, SKYPE, P2P software, web browsers) have access to the Internet and that action can trigger an IP alert if it tried to access a malicious IP address. Your firewall should be able to give you a list of such programs so you can confirm if they are legitimate. IP alerts are also triggered by banner ads running on websites.IP Protection is also designed to block incoming connections it determines to be malicious. Botnets and Zombie computers scour the net, randomly scanning a block of IP addresses, searching for vulnerable ports - commonly probed ports and make repeated attempts to access them. Hackers use "port scanning", a popular reconnaissance technique, to search for vulnerable computers with open ports usi... Read more

Hello:

I am having an issue with my Malwarebytes real time protection continually popping up with "Malicious Website Blocked."  The identified process is C:\Windows\SysWOW64\svchost.exe

I am using Windows 7.

This is a real annoyance and I'm guessing is an indication of an infection.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Malwarebytes Popup SysWOW64

Thanks for the link, but I don't think it worked.

svchost.exe was running in processes in a folder other than System32-- it was running in the syswow64 folder, which the link said was an indication of infection, but none of the anti-malware apps the page told me to run could detect anything.  Very strange.

Hello,

Suddenly my computer started getting a popup saying that my computer was being attacked. When I clicked "Yes" to block the attack, I was taken to a fake "AV" Antivirus website asking me to purchase this in order to remove the spyware.

Also, it will not allow me to run MalwareBytes - has a message saying "file infected". Can't run AVG antivirus or AdAware either or the Chrome web browser.

I tried to run HiJackThis and I got the same message saying "Cannot open - file infected".

The specific message of the antivirus is:

"Antivirus Software Alert -
Your computer is being attacked by an internet virus. It could be a password-stealing attack, a trojan - dropper or similar.
Details: Attack from: <various IPs that change>
Do you want to block this attack? Yes or No"

I cannot run programs that would allow me to take screenshots either - sorry I cannot provide these.

How do I get rid of this???

Here is my system info:

Windows Vista Home
Pentium Dual core cpu T4200 @ 2GHz
3 GB RAM
32 Bit

Thanks in advance.

A:AV Fake Antivirus Popup / Can't run MalwareBytes

Try downloading and using the SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner instead. Save the randomly named file (i.e. SAS_1710895.COM) to a usb drive or CD and transfer to the infected computer. Then boot into Safe Mode and double-click on it to launch and scan. The file is randomly named to help keep malware from blocking the scanner.

This just happened for the second time in the last 10 days or so and had never occurred before in the 2 years or so that I've been running MBAE.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1.

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit free version 1.06.1.1019.

Along with MSE and Malwarebytes Premium 2.1.6.1022.

Pale Moon is the browser; version 25.1.0 (x86).

Both times, it happened when Pale Moon had been completely closed. I poked an icon on my taskbar which opens the browser and I get the popup. I'm not going to a web site of any kind, just opening the browser to a blank page.

Shutting down the browser and reopening it again is OK, the popup does not reappear.

I did not take a screen shot, but it was pinkish/reddish with words to the effect that it had blocked something.

I looked over the MBAE forum at Malwarebytes.org and did not see any reference to this.

Has this happened to anyone else? Known issue? Unheard of?

It seems to be benign and I cannot explain why it occurs only when opening the browser and only twice in thousands of attempts, both recently.

A:Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit popup when opening browser---????

I had something similar happen when launching any browser from an Icon on the desktop. Deleted all shortcuts and from File Manager, right clicked on the actual .exe program and selected send to Desktop, create shortcut.

My Computer, Running Windows 7, started giving troubles with internet connection - The Proxy server Not responding. The device or resource (web proxy) is not set up to accept connections on port "8080". The issue gets fixed in Google Chrome when I ran a full scan in Malwarebytes (Other Ant-virus/malware like MS Security essential or 360 Total Security couldn't help).

But whenever I am connected to internet, Malwarebytes keeps giving pop-up - Malicious website blocked - wpad.browsersecurity.info. When I disabled online protection of Malwarebytes, the Proxy error appeared again. And I could see the following entries in the registry:

Key -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Wpad\<key value>\
Value Name -> WpadDetectedUrl
Value Data -> http://wpad.browsersecurity.info/wpad.dat

Value Name -> WpadDetectedUrl
Value Data -> http://wpad.browsersecurity.info/wpad.dat

If I delete WpadDetectedUrl value, the browser gets connected to the internet via the router.
But I can see (in Task manager) many instances of iexplorer/chrome is getting created and each time malware bytes (when enabled) gives pop-up saying Malicious website blocked - wpad.browsersecurity.info.

Not sure whats going on, system is slow, Malwarebytes came back with error 714 (0,9), so uninstalled using add/remove programs - but even that continually showed error code thru process. Have now reinstalled Malwarebytes and running scan - nothing detected on scan yet. Tried to print on Dell 924 Photo printer (which has worked fine for 5 years) and came back printing error. Tried to add/remove MS SQL 2005 program, wouldn't allow me to uninstal...this program had error messages at startup, wasn't even sure what it was or how it got on the system, so decided to uninstal after inquiring on techguy software forum..but it wouldn't let me uninstal it. Just got the computer back 2 days ago after contracting some kind of trojan. Was reformated.

I loged on this morning, opened outlook, opened firefox-to facebook.

A malwarebytes window flashed up, closing all programs
.
It was the quarintine box, saying that it had found 2 seperate trojan...something sign something.

I tried to highlight and delete the 2 entries. Wouldn't do anything.

X it out and turned off the computer tried to bring it back in safe mode. Husband tried 12 times to get safe mode.
Tapping F9 would only bring it to some re-boot screen.

Had to msconfig to get to safe mode.

Tried to run malwarebytes in safemode, got the same runtime error code 50003

Use windows remove program to remove malwarebytes to (in my mind) get rid of corrupt program.

Doing a search found this site and used it to download Malewarebytes

in this process also downloaded rkillls from here, it found one thing

Then Installed maLWAREBYTES, tried to run it and still got run time error 50003

Help? Be gentle. I don't even understand how to copy log files to show you.

I've read a bunch of old topics and tried following the same instructions and I'm still having problems.

Malwarebytes freezes half way through the run.  I tried in safemode I get the same thing.  I tried combofix and I keep getting run errors/extract errors.  I read a lot of topics where people were having similar problems.  The only addition to mine is my hard drive is constantly saying low disk space.  Its no where near low, If I delete one or two things totally a few gigs within 20 minutes my disk space is back to 0 kb again.

Please help! Much appreciated! .

Moderator Edit: Moved from Windows 7 forum to a more appropriate forum since Combofix did not run

The only reason I listed the error code for MB is because everywhere I've read, has advised me to use Malwarebytes. I received error code 372 and I get that in safe mode as well. I have tried to download a new fresh version but, my firewall is preventing me from this. I cannot turn off my firewall. I can't run avast or avg antivirus. I don't have the restoration cds. What do I do. Is there a fix? I can get online on the infected computer but, some websites are blocked because of a certificate issue. I've made system restore points in the past but, they aren't there now.

Just got a brand new computer, within an hour, started having redirect issues. I assume the problem is located in the router.

Anyhow, I started by installing Malwarebytes, ran a scan with no results. I uninstalled and installed Hitman 3.5, again with no results. And eventually made my way back to Malwarebytes. But during the initial update, I got this error message...

I haven't been able to find that error in any Google searches.

Something has happened on my laptop (the laptop with all my documents on it) and I cannot figure out what to do. I have previously posted at another forum here. The thread from my first post here. I have tried the automatic repairs of Windows in both safe mode and regular mode. I am unable to get either Norton 360 or PC Tools Registry Mechanic to open and run. I installed Malwarebytes Anti Malware and it ran until a "Run-Time error '6' " message appeared. I have tried uninstalling Norton 360 and Registry Mechanic, to no avail. I have tried reinstalling them over the old installations. I have tried uninstalling them in safe mode, in regular mode, and with a special program to uninstall themI have e mailed both Norton and PC Tools asking for advice. Can someone give me some more ideas? Thanks

When I tried opening Malwarebytes to run a scan on my Dell Inspiron 1400 (operating Windows XP), I get the following error:

"Run-time error '372':
Failed to load control 'vbalGrid' from vbalsgrid6.ocx. Your version of vbalsgrid6.ocx may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application."

and I'm not able to open the program at all.

I tried uninstalling my current version, downloading the latest version (from this site), and installing that, but I kept getting the same error message when I was both uninstalling and installing. I looked into the program folder and I see the vbalsgrid6.ocx file in there, so I'm not sure why the program won't open. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

A:Malwarebytes error 0xc000001d

Hello rodb.

This is not infection related.

The issue is seen on older machines with CPUs that are currently incompatible with the latest version of MBAM and one of it's components, QT.

Malwarebytes developers have a workaround in place that will allow you to run MBAM 2.1.8.1057
You'll first need to download and install it from here:
http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam/

At the final installation screen, do not click Finish. Leave that screen open, and continue below.

Next...download the file - Malwarebytes_2.1.8_SSE2_Hotfix.exe - from this link and save it to your desktop, or other easy to access location.

https://malwarebytes.box.com/s/7yxf8...qlvtevziq3ziut

Next...double click on the file to open it and follow the prompts.

A command window will open.
You should see several messages indicating files had been copied.
Click OK on the message box and press any key to close the command window which opened.

Now, click Finish on the installation screen, and MBAM should open without issue.

Let me know if that works.

Now EVERY other potential fix i've come accross is to DOWNLOAD a file and run it. WELL... that's the trick! nothing will run! The virus is killing them at startup.

I'm pretty sure my machine is deeply infected with malware or something, as I had to boot to Safe Mode and run ComboFix just to get it to load in normal mode.  I'm installing v1.70 of mbam and have Vista 64bit.   I deal with a lot of these infections on a daily basis, but I just can't seem to figure this one out.

There have been quite a few WebSearches found and at least 1 virus.  I've already ran ComboFix and Eset Online Scanner.  It appears everything has been removed, but I still cannot install Malwarebytes and update...

Any ideas?

Please let me know how to proceed.

I managed to clear it out, but now I can't get MalwareBytes 2.x running, it gives me some kind of c++ error. I've reinstalled all of the run times all the way back to the 2005 version, but this may be a virus that targets that program and makes it fail to run.

There seems to be whole lot of things wrong with my computer. Here they are:

1. First thing is that I no longer have a taskbar or start menu (though all my desktop icons are there).

2. Next is when I run Malwarebytes software I get the 372 error (vbalsgrid6.ocx error message)...I can't run it in Safe Mode as well. I tried running SuperAntiSpyware but nothing happnens there as well...it seems to startup initially, but then because it docks on the taskbar I can't activate it.

3. Also my search function is no longer working. "My Computer" icon is gone from my desktop (I have to open up the Trash folder to get into My Computer). When I try to download any other file (such as virus software, etc.) Firefox hangs and shows the "Not responding" so I have to shut it down.

By the way I run Windows XP Professional SP2. I think I might be infected with some trojan virus. I can't install HJThis since it tells me windows installer service could not be accessed.

Can someone help me out on how to go about fixing this issue? Thanks.

I have been using Malwarebytes for a number of years, however I went to run it on my wifes laptop today it was not working. So when I tried to unistall the old version I was using, and reinstall their newest version it would not allowed to do a uninstall of the older version. I am geting this message below, and not being allowed to do a uninstall of the older version:
Messages File "C:/Program Files (x86)Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware/unins000.msg" is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.

Has anyone seen this happen before, and maybe what I can do to get the old version uninstalled.

A:Malwarebytes Error Message Problem.

Two things to try.  First try downloading the current version and installing it.  If that doesn't work, try using the Revo uninstaller - it will uninstall a lot of things when nothing else will.

Good luck.

Ran malwarebytes and found 6 issues. I clicked fix issues and re booted. One of the issues was a problem going online...the bug changed settings to proxy setting. I noted a new folder on hard drive called AVENGER, and inside was one file called client.exe I deleted this folder not recognizing this folder as one I normally had on the computer. Now upon reboot I get this message:

windows cannot find c:\documents and settings\RAY\local settings\Application Data\Browser extensions\Client.exe
Make sure you typed correctly...etc.

I can close this box and computer runs fine..goes on internet, etc. No problems. I rescanned with Malwarebyte..shows no infection? How do get rid of this annoyance??

A:Cleaned with MalWareBytes...but get error on startup

Please download AdwCleaner.
Double-click the adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click Scan.
When the scan is finished, click Cleaning.
When the cleaning process is over, click Logfile and a Notepad window will be opened.
Please post the contents into your next reply.

Sorry if i'm not posting in the right area....I was having malware problems, i downloaded Malware bytes, the scan found 107 things, i clicked for them to be cleared off and then my computer had to restart, but now when it does i get a error message that i didn't have before. I took a picture of the error can someone please tell me what it means or how i can fix it??
BTW the picture is kinda crappy but whatever, i also get two different errors. How can i fix it thanks.

A:I ran Malwarebytes and now i get a error when i restart my computer?

Welcome to BC !

Likely something in your startup list is looking for it. In other words the missing .dll was quarantined but something was missed.

To get a clearer idea, post the scan results log from MBAM that contains the 107 items deleted/ quarantined. Look in the History tab.

I'm sure other scans will find more...well....that is the norm. I'm going to ask that this topic be moved to the Am I Infected forum.

When I try to open MBAM, I get this error. Then when I tried to uninstall from both Control Panel and Program files, I could not uninstall. Control Panel route recommends to install a new version and Program files route refuses to have the file deleted citing a component of it is being used in another program. And when I tried to install a new version, I could save the download but could not open(all of a sudden Windows is asking what program to use to open). I did system restore, to no avail. I did sfc /scannow, also to no avail.

Hi!This is my first post and I really appreciate bleeping computer team for providing such a wonderful service to people in need. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. I have Symantec Norton Antivirus 2011, Avast Free Antivirus and Comodo Firewall installed. I update my system (windows, antivirus, firewall, acrobat etc) regularly. Off late my system has been running slowly. The two antivirus catch infections every now and then (pendrives, malicious links). I run regular scans (both Norton and Avast), all of which almost never detect any infection and assure that my system is clean.Yesterday I installed Malwarebytes Anti Malware just to be sure that my computer doesn't have any infection. It was constantly (every 2-3 seconds) blocking outgoing connections from BitComet to different IPs located in China. Believing that the problem is in BitComet, I started utorrent, and the result was same for it as well, MBAM blocked outbound connections, albeit at a lower frequency. Then it blocked an inbound connection from svchost.exe. I just quit both the torrent clients and the notifications stopped. I then quit MBAB.I started Malwarebytes scan and while it was still running, it showed two infections. During the scan itself a blue screen came and my windows crashed. Ignoring it, after a while I again started the scan and the same thing happened. Now I am not sure whether whether its because of scan or infection, but during the 2 years life of my laptop, it was 2nd and 3rd time when Blue ... Read more

I have run DDS and FRST (not sure if I was supposed to, but I read it on a different topic). The DDS log is here, the ATTACH log is attached, and I can post the FRST one as well if necessary.

A:BSOD trying to scan with MalwareBytes, error code 24.

The dump is giving me no information other than it is a third Party driver causing the problem. Do you have another anti Virus installed? If you do, put Malwarebythes folder in the scan exceptions, and stop the other program and run Malwarebytes again. See if that helps.

If not, uninstall Malwarebytes with their removal Utility and reinstall it. https://helpdesk.malwarebytes.org/hc...s-Anti-Malware-

Four times today, I've seen this message pop up at the bottom of my screen, from Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Malicious Website Protection, IP, 72.21.91.29, 57216, Outbound, C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

I've just run a complete Malwarebytes scan; I'm up to date, and it reported no errors.

AVG 2015 has done a complete scan; it's also up to date and it also reported no errors.

Spyware Blaster reports it's running correctly and I'm being protected, from its point of view.

As far as I recall, I'm using whatever firewall comes with Win 8.1. I know I have never installed anything else.

In general, I'm running a Dell desktop, Win 8.1/64 bit, latest edition of the above security software; Firefox v43.0.4, which it says is up to date.

I'm a complete newbie. I have no idea what the Malwarebytes message means, or who to ask. I did send them a message like this one, but it's too soon for a reply, so I'm double-dipping by asking here also.

Thx in advance.

Tom

A:Pls decipher this error msg from Malwarebytes Anti Malware

Hi, Please could someone look at this, the website I moderated on has been hit with warning about antivirus 2009 (seems to be a google thing when viewing in firefox - ok when viewing in IE) any way my computer has been slow so I have removed my Spysweeper and I had Zonealarm Securtiy Suite trial which I have just purchased but it will not accept my license key and just has a red x on it. Malwarbytes would not run and just comes up with a box saying vd accelaerator S Grid II Control Run-time error 0 then when check that box another comes up saying Malwarebytes' Anti Malware Run-time error 440 Automation error.

I cannot get either to work and I am worried as they said on www.eurobichons site that someone had hacked in.

Please can you take a look and advise me what to do (very simply please)

HI, Several days ago, I tried to send an email to someone, and then revceived these pop-ups. And they won't go away, and interfere with my use of my email. I will describe to you exactly what they say:

When I clck for example on my shortcut-to-email-inbox on my Desktop, I will get this popup:

"Some errors occurred while processing required tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more details.

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected email address was '[email protected]'. Subject 'Can you recommend any good forums and/or sources of information? Account, dd o neill. Server'smtp .ntworld.com'. Protocol: SMTP. Server Response: '553 Invalid address syntax'. Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No. Server Error: 553. Error Number: 0x800CCC79"

I also get another pop-up telling me I have unsent messages, and do I want to send, yes or no. of course when I click 'yes' I get that other pop up. At the moment i have clicked it's 'hide'. But I am still knowing its there. And at bottom of my inbox I have 'error' with the yellow triangle and exclamation mark.

So, please, what can I do to resolve this?

Hi im new to this site,

i have had some problems related to an error, it sounds like spyware or a virus.

i have reformated twice. it seemed ok for about a month, now nerly every time i turn pc off it sais at the end before shutting down that 'Uni Popup' error occured.

i have left this problem for about 2 weeks, and i have noticed problems.

My graphics card Temperature has increased, instead of normal working temperature of 35oc it has increased 45 - 60oc

When i play online games e.g Call of Duty UO
My FPS (frames per second) has decreased . i cant get a steady Fps because my gt card is getting hot, err so i get a estimated 90 fps wile aiming , and normally it would be around 180 depending were i am.

Second problem is the pc starting up and sometimes , it comes up in the Blue screen and sais to restart.

i have noticed big problems now. i use x-fire ( www.x-fire.com )
which i use for chatting and gaming. when i went onto it today it had an update, which downloaded, but gets stuck on a part of the installation (update).

So i have had one more problem and this is when i go onto Media player and either listen to music or rip a CD ect.
If any one could help me sort this problem then i would be greatful
Thanks Chris white

i had installed malwarebytes to rid of the adds and pop ups that I receive onto my web browser ( Google Chrome & Mozilla FireFox ) I let it scan my computer which had some effects of lagging my current in-use files. After it had finished scanning it asked me whether I wanted to delete the files or if I wanted to quarantine them, so I decided to quarantine all the files it had found a threat. It then had told me to restart my computer and after I had restarted my computer, everything was working fine but I couldn't connect to the internet due to : Unable to connect to the proxy server.
Since then I had uninstalled malwarebytes before I found the forum because I thought that were get rid of my issue. I had run my SRST scan and I also have attached my log for the malwarebytes run.
Since I am using a laptop to access the internet I am unable to do online scans on my insected computer.
I do not understand the functions on computers and such so well so I need greater assistance.
Thank you for any assistance that you give me.

Ok, Hello =)
I am not sure what to do but here goes nothing ^^
I shall start at the beginning.
I had a problem where a command prompt would appear for about half a second then disappear every 5-10 minutes. The title of this prompt was
C:DOCUME~1\Testing\LOCALS~1\Temp\TMP543.exe

What read in the box was something along the lines of
Bad command or .. .
I could never read the rest. After some basic troubleshooting and searching, I decided to post about it on computing.net. In which a helper on their site asked me to use ATF cleaner which i did, then suggested Malwarebytes, which i did as well. I posted the logs and apparently i was heavily infected. (i do not know) their helper then gave me instructions to use ComboFix, which I followed. He gave me various links and such of how to use ComboFix. . .about 11 hours into running Combofix, i restarted my computer, because it had been on the same screen for 8-9 hours now. It hadn't fixed the original problem and I had no taskbar at the bottom of the screen, it was only a sliver of it sometimes, i could not copy and paste files/text/folders. I was then instructed to uninstall ComboFix, then redo the previous instructions. I did. This time combofix went through fine, i got a log and the original problem was gone. however, the copy/paste and taskbar are still problematic. He told me to run malwarebytes again, when i attempted to it gave me this error

Hello Everyone...
I found my problem in the Malwarebytes Forum Section here but it will not let me sign in,no matter how many times I 've tried ,so I thought I would try it here,I had to ask additional question anyway because their response seems to apply to the FREE version of MBAM....
I have Windows7 OS & have been using MBAM Premium for quite a while now, without a glitch.......I clicked on to check it as I do everyday or so and the permissions pop-up appeared as usual ,I approved & nothing happened.......Then after several times,I noticed it was no longer in my start up programs in WinPatrol & absent from the list of programs in Secunia PSI.....I noticed I needed to allow my automatic updates to start, I did them & then Secunia said I needed to manually update  Adobe Flash Player,it would not update ......Finally,since Adobe Flash Player always seems to be a problem anyway,I uninstalled it....then all my updates were in order.
I tried several times to re-install MBAM & I kept getting the runtime error message,,,,,I uninstalled MBAM & tried again, same thing.......I ran the Microsoft troubleshoot & it said I had update problems & recommended a systems restore....I did that & it said programs that may be affected were MBAM & Adobe Flash Player,,,,,,I did the restore,,,,no difference  & I cannot install MBAM.......I don't even know how anyway b... Hello newbleeping:
I'm guessing you probably meant to type E06D7363 in your title. No worries.
Please follow the instructions in the locked/pinned topic: Internal error: Expression error 'Runtime Error' / External exception E06D7363.

BTW - If you perform a MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x using the "Free" version download, you merely need to activate MBAM2 with your license ID, and Key and MBAM2 immediately becomes a "Premium" version again.

Did you begin the registration process on the Malwarebytes forum, and did you complete the registration acknowledgement phase via email? These two forums use similar forum software, from IP.Board, but the forums are not linked together with common membership rights.
Please let us know how it works for you.

The other day I got a popup I have never seen or heard of before and I am looking for ideas on where it might have come from. I have subsequently had to reboot the box and the popup has not returned. Unless the popup is generated by the bios (doubtful) it is unlikely to be anything from Dell, as the OS was clean installed. Any ideas?EDIT: Moved from XP to Win7~~boopme

Hi PaulBiscardi and welcome tothe BC malware forum. I don't see anything in the log that is out of the ordinary. There is 1 entry with a file missing so let's fix that.Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missingNow close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair. Now let's check to make sure that there are no files hiding in the system that might not be showing up in the HijackThis log.Download WinPFind.zip and unzip the contents to the C:\ folder.Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:Restart the computer. As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the boot menu appears.Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.Press the Enter key.Locate the c:\winpfind\winpfind.exe file and double-click it to run it. I've been getting the following error/popup every time I start my computer. It's for "Media Gallery MergeModules x64" and it's trying to install something. After I click "OK" I get another error that it cannot find it. If I try cancelling it, I have to cancel it about 10 times before it goes away. Has anyone got the same problem with their Vaio and how do I fix it? I have uninstalled Media Gallery and checked startup items to see if maybe an update couldn't fine the edia Gallery and that waa the problem, but no. I can't do a system restore as I uninstalled months ago and this has just started.
Thanks

A:Vaio error/popup

Hi, you could try the following:

- uninstall the program using the Application Manager for VAIO. Perhaps you did the uninstall via Windows and hence the VAIO software is trying to install it again?

- get Autoruns (from Sysinternals, search Google) and look through all the startup items. You might find the problem here

- run CCleaner to analyze your registry and see if any of the issues it finds are related to Media Gallery. This is a long shot, but worth trying

Hope this helps!

As requested I am placing the content of the HJT result.txt file to assist with the resolution of a problem which has locked me out of my computer for several days now. The lenghty explanation of the problem can be found under the Windows XP forum discussion at: <http://www.techsupportforum.com/showthread.php?t=53205 >.

Please note - I used "HijackThis Analyzer program" to get the "new" log (result.txt)

What is also important to know is that a virus checker was run and reported no viruses - but the problem itself is blocking the use of AdAware and SpyBotS&D.

Anyway - I sure do hope someone can help me with this frustrating problem!

A:bad image (popup) error

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Reboot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key until menu shows up. In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers.

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

I've been getting the following pop up just starting today:

A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to debug?
Line: 164
Error: Undetermined string constant

yes no

When I click on yes, a notepad type box pops up, but it does nothing. When I click on no, it will continue to pop up several times. While the box is on the screen, it prevents me from doing anything else, and I can't seem to just delete it.

I've run adaware, spybot, windows defender and super antispyware. Needless to say I don't have any idea what this means, so I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Windows XP, SP2

Choose "Perform Complete Scan" and click "Next". * When done, a Scan Summary will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK". * Make sure they all have a checkmark next to them and click "Next". * A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu. * Click Preferences and then click the statistics/logs tab. * Click the dated log and press View log.
