Paypal.com website unable to access on multiple devices.

Q: Paypal.com website unable to access on multiple devices.

Hi Guys,

Simple issue: Paypal.com won't load on any device connected in my home, pc, laptop, mobile phone etc.

This can only lead me to believe it's a router realted issue though I can't seem to find a solution. I've factory resetted the router, changed it for a new one etc. and still paypal.com is unaccessable.

If I run a 'cmd' ping test on the URL, it attempts four connections and fails. The windows host files are fine and I've tried turning of all firewalls, anti-viruses, malwares for a short time to test. Still fail.

Does anyone know a solution I can try?

This might not be the wright place to post this but
On my computer I am not able to access a specific website and that is paypal.com
I always get the same error

"Secure connection failed Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long"

This isn't a browser issue because nobody was able to help me at the mozilla support forums, and I get the same error with any other browser I try(Error:404 with internet explorer).Obviously there is something in my computer that is blocking me from using paypal.com
I cleaned my registry.
I ran a full PC scan with security essentials.
I ran a deep scan with malwarebytes.
I ran disk cleanup.

It certainly has nothing to do with my internet,or IP because on another PC with the same connection papal is accessible.

A:Unable to access paypal

I have no trouble with Chrome.

https://www.paypal.com/home

Did you google it ? All these hits talk about Firefox.

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...ecord_too_long

and these

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...%20to%20paypal

Pulled this from one of the articles.

IF you are using Windows you could try a couple of things. open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd.exe), and type "Ping paypal.com" without the quotes, and hit enter. If result is 3 packets sent, then your computer is able to find the paypal.com website. But if all packets are lost, then something is not right.

Second thing to try is to see what IP address your computer is finding for Paypal.

At the command prompt type "NsLookup.exe paypal.com". It will either come up with an address or an error message. If an error about "no info found" then something DNSish has gone wrong. If it does resolve an address for Paypal.com, that doesn't mean it is the right one though.
If you do try these suggestions, report back results and we can see where to go next.

Hope someone can help with this one.
I can't access paypal or ebay.
When I try to, the address changes to http:///?%20www.paypal.com for paypal.......and http:///?%20www.ebay.com for ebay.

I have run CWShredder, adaware and spybot, but still I get the same results.

Thanks for your time.

Hello,

Switched over the internet service provider to Time Warner. We are using the same router we have used before the switch (which was also with Time Warner service provider) and everything was working FINE before the switch. But now, with the new modem from service provider something is wrong -- My roommate is unable to connect her laptop, and her phone to the wifi even though the network is being detected. I can only connect to my laptop, which was the laptop I had opened to verify connectivity when the Technician was there. Also, my I-phone is unable to connect to the network even though it detects it. It's very odd considering we had the technician come out to resolve this issue in the first place. Could it be that the DHCP server has been turned off, so it's allowing only one device to connect to the one IP address on the modem?
Or do we need to delete the wifi networks off of our computers and other devices? My roommate tried that on her devices and still didn't connect. Please help.

A:Unable to connect multiple devices to home wifi

Do you know if your new modem includes WiFi? Is so, when you tested the connection with the technician present, did they have you connect wirelessly to your existing wireless router or to the modem itself?

Assuming you are running some version of Windows on the computer that can connect, please go into the Windows DOS/Command prompt screen and run an IPCONFIG /ALL command. Then copy and paste the complete results of the command here.

Hi there.
I am using my phones 3G to type this and it's a real nuisance since I cannot research information for essays and other important aspects that I need when studying for my A levels.

Anyway, it started last night around 11pm, everything died and I thought it was because of the bad weather.
I woke up to sunshine however the internet was still not working.

The router is a SuperHub 2 and it had no problems up till now, the lights for 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz are flashing and so are the other lights on the router - this the router is working.

The problem is the connectivity, I use my laptop, iPhone and computer all together when studying and playing games. All of which has the same problem. All have the 5 bars connectivity however they all say "no internet access" and no response from the DNS servers.

What is the problem then?

What I've done:
- I have release and renewed the IPs
- reset router numerous times
- turned on: off router numerous times
- fiddled with wires to make sure they're plugged in.
- turned on and off computers and laptops.
- set IvP4 to automatic.
- waited hours.
- went onto the Virgin Media router page via 192.168.0.X. Then I started the router up in factory status, starting I up a few times.

How do I fix this nuisance? I need the internet now, for work purposes.
Please help, since it's affecting me and my family members and all of our devices.

A:No internet access on multiple devices

Does the Virgin Media router page give you a status of the WAN?

We had a bad storm last week and it took a few days after power was restored for Comcast to repair their lines.

I was able to get to my router, but the WAN address was 0.0.0.0 - can't get there from here!

If you have a WAN address, turn everything off (no power) then
power up your cable modem, wait a few minutes for it to cycle through what it cycles through
power up your router (if seperate) wait for it to cycle through what it cycles through
finally power up your machine and check the network status on the Virgin Media router

If you don't have a WAN address, report the outage to your provider. They probably already know about your area, but a call never hurts.

Okay, so I moved my wireless router to a more central location in my house (I got low signal in my room) and since then I've been able to connect to the network but only with limited access. Trying to connect to a webpage results in the "DNS lookup failed" error message (Chrome). My brother's computer had had the same issue, and the PlayStation 3 has had connectivity issues also, however I have been able to use my phone with the WiFi without any issues.

I've tried unplugging/turning the router on and off to no effect. Using a different router does not change the situation either. When I try to diagnose the network connection, it says that it could not identify the problem. Any ideas?

Some information:

Both computers run Windows 8
My phone is a Nokia Lumia 620 running WP8
The WiFi status window states that IPv4 and IPv6 have no internet access
My computer uses a Qualcomm Atheros AR5B125 wireless network adapter and says it is working correctly. The adapter is set to work with IPv4/6. IPv4 is set to obtain IP & DNS addresses automatically.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For a Windows PC ...

Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page (don't collapse the Radar, Connection or Signal History) of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. If your only email accounts are free (Hotmail, gmail, etc.) try this direct link. If you need help with a screen shot see TSG Posting a Screenshot. FWIW to take screen shots with Windows 8 or 7 or Vista I prefer to use the built-in Snipping Tool.

Identify your network if it is not obvious.

Also show ...

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

I've read other topics about it here, but my situation is somewhat unique.

1) I can successfully ping websites from the command line (PC)/Network utility (Mac), but can't open any pages in internet browsers. This applies to all devices/OS/browsers (Win 8, OSX, iOS, Android) as well as apps and software that requires Internet access in the household.

2) The incoming e-mails (in Mac mail app) go through.

3) I have 2 routers ? AirPort Time Capsule and the standard router from ISP. I tried them both, same zero result (ping - yes, browsing - no).

ISP hesitates to send help, they don't see any issues on their side of the line yet.

Not posting any logs since it's a multiple devices/routers situation.

Any ideas?

Hi there,
I find this problem very tricky to explain due to its weirdness, so my apologies if this explanation doesn't come across very well.

I have been dealing with a very strange problem in that for several hours of each day (usually in the evenings) my Ipad suddenly refuses to send and recieve mail via the Ipad mail app. Also, during these same periods my PS3 console is blocked from the playstation network. My PC running XP mostly remains fine except youtube is often inaccessible via my gmail login and some sites appear to slow down, while most sites (non-google related) appear to behave as normal.

Strangely, I am still able to access my gmail inbox via web broswers on both my PC and Ipad - but the Ipad app itself refuses to work at all.
The problem only exists for periods of a few hours each day and then everything returns to normal with no problems of notice.
After running a quick scan with Malwarebytes, it found "pup.offerware" which I removed.

Any help would be amazing! Many thanks and here is my log:

As it says on the tin really! I am an absolute non technically minded person so have no idea how to even start trying to fix this problem. A few weeks ago our router quite happily let multiple devices attach wirelessly to the internet at once but in the last couple of weeks it has started only allowing one device at a time to connect to the internet. If say my partners work laptop is connected then our home laptop/iPad can see the wireless router but it will not allow them to connect to the internet anymore. Can anyone help me to try and sort this please...I can use my computer for basic things but am in no way technically minded so please be very clear and simple with any help you are able to give.

TIA

You have to turn on DLNA sharing. It is not enough to just share and give permissions. Click on Cortana and type media streaming options. She should give you a link right to control panel applet. Enable it.

Hi i'm not sure if this is the right place for posting this question basically I am trying to setup VPN on a Widows 2000 Server - I have enabled VPN via Routing and Remote access and enabled a test account with permission to dial in and have enabled port forwarding for the VPN port 1723 When I try to dial in from the outside it connects via VPN fine but I am only able to ping the VPN server if I try to ping for example the router's IP it times out

The server only has one network card installed do i need to fit an additional network card in the server.

I hope someone can help - thanks in advance

A:VPN 2000 Unable to access other devices once connected

You need to configure the VPN client not to use the default gateway on remote computer.

Other than trying to ping the router, can you connect to other devices or map drives to the VPN server?

Was wondering if anybody has had this issue with there USB devices? I recently did a fresh install of Vista but when I double click on any USB device all I get is the blue circle for about 1/10th of a second before it disappears. When I right click and try to open the drives I get the following message for all devices "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". I'am able to view all files on all USB drives when I right click on the drives and use autoplay but would rather not have to keep doing that way. I have taken ownership of the devices, renamed the devices, assigned them different letters and tried them in different ports but nothing seems to work. I have done several installs in the past on the same computer with the same exact CD and never had this issue. Could this a registry issue or a corrupt file? If anybody has solved this issue before or has any thoughts or ideas about this it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi to all

I am having an issue and need some help please. Earlier today I was given admin access to a website to assist with some forums there. I was told to enter my username and a password (given by site for admin access ) then enter my normal user/password details.

I did this there was a pop up to be filled I believe called iexplorer and I completed the necessary. However I got a message stating unauthorised access. When I attempted to log in as normal to the site(I use Norton to store passwords etc) I was unable to access the site, I am able to access other sites(one or two are stating my password is wrong had no issue before and norton self fills all my saved sites)with no problems.

I use IE but have tried chrome still no joy, I have cleared cache etc flushed dns no joy.

I have been able to access the website using my mobile phone roaming data away from home, but if I use my home network I am unable to connect.

Any help is appreciated
oh I have checked Norton isn't blocking the site and it is set to allow so I am stuck

A:Unable to access a particular website

You need to talk to the person who owns the website. Most likely you need to install special Client Software for the server that they are using.

I've tried dropping the security settings, etc. in both IE and FF, to no avail. I suspect some sort of firewall, but I can't find one on this PC. So, here's my HJT for the main PC in the house...

Hie guys,

I am new to this forum. Hope this I am posting at the right place.

I am currently running on Windows XP.

I have this problem where i am not able to access this website. www.uae-photo.com using IE and Mozilla

I have confirmed that this website is up and running because i have asked other people from other parts of the world to try and access it. The website seems to be running fine. It only seems to be me.

COuld it be a problem with some cookies/internet settings or anyother sort of problem? I could access a couple of days ago. The error i am receiving is:-

"Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out"
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

For assistance, contact Customer Support"

Hope someone has some input. Thanks in advance.

Regards.

A:Unable to access website.

I can access the site fine too.

Test your connection by opening a Command Prompt window and typing the following:

TRACERT www.uae-photo.com > tsftrace.dat

and then pressing return. Leave it for a few minutes (may take a while depending on the speed of your connection - the prompt will appear back when it's done), then, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder that your Command Prompt is in (shown at the start of the line you type on in the Command Prompt window) and look for the tsftrace.dat file. Open the file in Notepad and paste the text you find in it back in here (the text should end with ' Trace Complete'. That should give us and idea of what's going on.

Hi,

I am hoping you can help me out. I am unable to access the site www.afford.com (alternatively afford.com or 24.249.218.80).

We have two other computers in the house using the same router and security software (verizon) and they can get to it just fine using Firefox, but my main computer cannot. We are all running XP. Tried using both IE and Firefox tp see if it made a difference. Firefox loads a blank page and IE just says the page in unavailable.

I tried several things based on advice I saw in other searches, including clearing all the temp files, resetting the DNS, doing a netsh winsock reset, setting the firewall to see it as a trusted site and specifying that it could send cookies (though I don't know if it needs to). Host file only lists the default that comes with the system (local host). Also disabling the firewall does nothing. None of these measures has been necessary on the other computers and they display the site just fine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I need to use this site to pay my son's monthly college bills and it would be much more convenient to do it from the computer where I do my bookkeeping.

I'm able to access other websites so far but one keeps redirecting me to a cloudflare captcha page, and the captcha won't load.

I am able to access the same website on the same network using my mobile phone. I already ran AdWare Medic and it came up with nothing. Cleared cache and restarted. Still won't let me access the page or see the captcha.

Help please?

Incidentally, I received this error from Firefox when I was clearing the cache:
Script:chrome//browser/content/sanitize.js:206

I thought I was running Firefox, why is it saying Chrome?

Thanks in advance!

I hope there is some expert here that can figure this one out. I have tried everything.

The website is www.streamingradioguide.com

I am unable to access it through Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Opera.

I am able to access it if I go into my AOL program and use the Explorer that comes with that.

I am able to ping the website, and changing the DNS server doesn't help at all.

I can't access it by using the http://64.202.100.247 directly either, unless I go into the AOL program.

I have checked the Host file, and nothing is wrong with it either. Any ideas? Thanks!

A:Unable to access one specific website

I got the answer to my own question. The website blocked me out because I have AVG antivirus, and it checks each web link for safety.

The website blocks those kinds of site out.

I am unable to access a single website. eharmony.com

I was able to via DSL but just switched to cable (optimumonline). The curious bit is that I have a router and didn't change any settings.

Using the wired connection I am unable to connect now, but if I remove the router I can connect. Previously I had no problem with this router in place.

I have this issue with all browsers. Also, if I open up AOL software (full version), I can then access the website without a problem with any browser.

It seems as if the combination of the cable modem and router is causing the problem as the DSL modem and router worked fine, and the Cable modem without the router works fine. I was told TCP ports 443 and 80 need to be open and according to windows they are.

Other than that I'm lost at present and I'm getting the run around from the companies.

Hi,

First posting this and completely new to me but if anyone is able to help I will be very grateful. My problem is similar to that posted my nvmar in September but I'm not technical enough to follow all of the advice. Problem is that I can no longer access a specific website - bbc. Was never a problem until now. Thought it might be blocked for some reason but can access from another computer. Have run virus scan (Norton) and Ad-aware and removed what little came up - didn't look anything serious, restarted computer but problem still exists. Help please.

A:[SOLVED] Unable to access bbc website

Either a coincidence or this website is truly remarkable - just tried accessing the website again and no problem - it works! Don't know what was the problem so if anyone is still able to comment it would help. Will certainly keep this website in my favourites.

Hello!

I appear to have a couple of nasty bugs. The most obvious symptom is a pop-up ad that appears every five to ten minutes with the following text (misspellings preserved from original):

Quote:

Warning! Potential Spyware Operation!

Your computer is making unauthorized copies of your system and Internet files. Run full scan now to pervent any unathorised access to your files! Click YES to download spyware remove ...

There are myriad other symptoms, some of which are temporarily alleviated by running Ad-Aware or Spybot:

Nothing fixes
* pop-up message above
* unable to get Norton Anti-Virus to run
* links from Google search results redirect to a random search page or File Not Found error (this can be avoided by right-clicking and selecting Open Link in New Window)

Alleviated by Spybot/Ad-Aware until restart
* home page in IE changed from about:blank to www.google.com
* access to symantec.com blocked
* cannot access Control Panel->Properties
* cannot access Properties by right-clicking on Desktop
* cannot access Windows Security Center
* cannot run regedit

I have run a Panda scan and can provide those results if necessary (it found 28 Spyware programs, 1 dialer and a couple of other things). Below are my results from running HijackThis. I have also attached the "extra.txt" file.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I hope I've done this right this time....I have been having a problem in accessing the www.mnf-iraq.com website, and had done a few suggested things to try and repair that....to no avail. Instead, it has created additional problems for me. My home page continually changes back to: http://hp-desktop.aol.com/ now. I have found this website for assistance and have posted the logs below that you request. I think that me not being able to access the website has something to do with an issue that I either had to approve or deny, and I probably denied it, as I am able to access the website on my work computer. If anyone can help with my homepage issue, and any other issues you see from the logs below, I'd greatly appreciate it. I know just enough about computers to be dangerous!!!If you have any suggestions as to the website issue, I'd appreciate those as well. Thanks for your assistance!!!!!!~DebLogfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 1:51:46 PM, on 10/21/2007Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16544)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files... Using my Windows 7 computer, I am unable to access Northern Brewer Home Beer Brewing Kits, Supplies & Equipment The page contentiously loads. I am able to load it using Ubuntu, or Windows XP on different computers. The Windows 7 computer is able to load in if I use ASUS Express Gate before Windows 7 loads. I have checked the hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ and tried changing DNS servers. I have flushed the dns cache, using ipconfig /flushdns. I have tried using Opera, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Safari, none will work. I have also deleted all cookies, history, cache on them, still no luck. I have done full system scans using Microsoft Security Essentials, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I have also checked for root kits using combofix, all reported a clean system. I haven't noticed this problem with other websites, and have tried contacting the owners, but they have no ideas. This is a website I regularly use, and would prefer to access on this computer since the others are a server and htpc.

Here's my situation:

I cannot access the website facebook.com with any browser on my computer. I can however access login.facebook.com, university.facebook.com etc... as well as any other web page in the world. Any browser that I use will have this problem. It is not the internet provider because I have had 2 (in 2 different countries) and the problem persists.

I never had this problem before, but started to notice this after I installed a free firewall around 6 months ago. (yeah dumb mistake on my part) I uninstalled it after a day and luckily there were no viruses.

It seems to me that the firewall didn't completely uninstall correctly and something is left over that prevents me from ever going on the site.

Tried reverting registry to a previous saved copy but to no avail.
There are also no additional exe's that im aware of that might belong to the firewall running.

so basically:
This problem is localized on my computer and is independent of browsers and isps. I can use facebook, but anytime when I am redirected to the main directory facebook.com/...., it will show "this page cannot be loaded". I do not have any viruses or malware whatsoever and keep my system clean. Also it's been 6 months and if it were a virus, then it sucks.

please help, this problem is driving me nuts! if you use facebook, then you'd know that this means I can't add any apps and lose certain key functionality with the site.

osCmax PayPal Website Payments Standard module has the following fields for completion:-

Paypal's public certificate
My Paypal public certificate ID

I've searched PayPal's website and instructions for ages but I can't find this information. Can somebody please give me a route to the necessary pages?

The osCMax forum is pretty well dead - no questions seem to get answered these days. PayPal's forum seems to be much the same.

I can view all websites including online banking, but I can only bring up the paypal web site home page. Once I try to access my account, or any page other than the home page, it says that the page cannot be displayed, and tells me to check my internet settings.

A:my computer won't let me visit the paypal website

First step check for spyware and viruses (you ARE posting in the security forum so you must suspect).

Go to www.download.com and get Spybot Search & Destroy and install update and run a scan, remove anything it finds.

Then go run an online AV scan at
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

If that not work locate your Windows hosts file and delete it and reboot computer (Windows will re-create a new copy of hosts file).

Beyond that, it's getting into the realm of using Hijack This, there are many here who can help you with that.

Today, my roommate apparently used my laptop without my knowledge, trying to "make my wireless network more secure" (or so he says.) In the process,he completely destroyed said network (so much for making it more secure) and I ended up not being able to use it at all.

After a call to tech support at my ISP, I was able to get it up and running again. I can access my email, use my P2P program, and access every website I've tried, except for one specific site. When I try to access that particular one, I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error page, and when I try to investigate further by clicking the "Diagnose Connection Problems" button, what comes up is "[This website] is not set up to establish a connection on port "World Wide Web" (HTTP)" with this computer."

I have never seen this error message before, and I was able to access this particular website with absolutely no problems, right up until this afternoon when my roommate fooled with my wireless connection. And, as I said, I can access every other website I want, just not this one. Could it be simply a matter of the server being busy/unavailable, or could there still be something screwy with my wireless network?

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm having an issue with connecting to ragezone.com

On January 17 09, I was viewing this site and when I refreshed it said
Firefox can't find the server at www.ragezone.com.

-This also did not work on Internet Explorer
I checked other sites and they all worked.
I then pinged sites as yahoo.com, google.com, facebook.com .. and I received 4 pings from them each. I pinged ragezone.com and it said 'Ping request could not find host.'

I went to all the other computers on my network, and they could not go to ragezone.com either.

So, I reset my router manually by it out and waiting awhile and putting it back in. This also did not resolve the problem.

Also, my firewall is not on.

A:Unable to connect to PayPal

I ran into this two times before. Not sure if it applies to you, but in both cases it turned out to be a router problem. I would suggest clearing the cache and temporary files from your computer then shut it down.

Next, if you have a router, unplug it for sixty seconds, plug it back in and then push the reset button on it one time. Now turn your computer on and try again. Did you also try multiple browsers?

Good luck.

Hi everyone!

I used to shop heavily on amazon.com and utilize paypal for my ebay transactions. However, due to a recent glitz in my laptop security, which i'm very sure isn't viral, spyware or adware, i get the following message each time i try to visit the page:

"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.amazon.com.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

i tried to tamper with my firewall settings on my XP platform to no avail. please also note that i have no such problem on my desktop which is in my living room which is connected via the ethernet cable whilst my laptop in my room is wirelessly connected. i never had this problem until 2 months ago. i'm tired of googling this problem which only gives me some more related links to amazon.com. the problem is strictly isolated to amazon & paypal network and i am able to surf on other webpages. suggestion appreciated.

XP Pro system, SP2, running Comodo firewall, Avira, Windows Defender. Have run Mbam, SAS, CWshredder in safe mode. Have also run Panda and Sophos, OTscanIT, Asquared, RootRepeal, etc. After all this, I ran SDFix yesterday and it found and deleted a trojan in C:\Windows called '1.tmp'. Still unable to open www.symantec.com website. Unable to open www.pctools.com website. I've tried pinging those websites and get 'request timed out'. Believe this machine is still infected and I need help at this point. Thanks, guys.Just to clarify the above... When booting up in safe mode with networking enabled, no problem reaching www.symantec.com or www.pctools.com. However, in normal bootup those sites - and others - are unreachable.Merged posts. ~ OB

Help, whenever my computer try to go to Paypal, the browser would just display a "blank white screen" and said the loading is done, this happened to both Internet Explorer and Firefox
When I used other computer from the same network, paypal would work just fine without any problem
Note: It didn't said anything like could not access, or time out, or error, it just show a blank white screen (other website still work just fine)

Hi guys, weird problem I have been facing is that on my PC. I cannot access Paypal tried it in two of the internet browsers Firefox and Google Chrome both say that the website operation has timed out. Then I thought maybe there was something blocking it like Nortons so I searched in the blocked sites nothing at all. Then I tried to scan the PC nothing came back now I'm stumped. Paypal works on all the other PC's in the house so it has nothing to do with Paypal side so it must be down to this computer, please help =(

Hi there

I am having trouble with many pieces of malware at once I think.
A few days ago I noticed I was being redirected around to different websites (something like www.ads-find-all-you-want.com) about 20% of the time when I clicked on any link. I have tried to get rid of it with malwarebytes, but it didn't go away. Today I noticed the computer slowing donw significantly and I have multiple instances of 300k+ memory usage "explorer.exe" being open and multiple "iexplore.exe" despite me having never used internet explorer.

I have tried using the dds tool to make a dds.txt, but it will only generate me the attach.txt  and no dds.txt file no matter the options I select. I visited this forum (or a similar one) many years ago now and was told to make HijackThis logs. Not sure if this is still a thing at all but I made some anyway and i'll attach those.

I also took a screengrab of all the explorer.exe's running

Hope you can help me, and I can provide any other things you need

Thanks!

I am having several websites that I used to connect to but now since January 2011 they simply won't come up.

I have Windows 7. No error message, NOTHING... I can find the websites on Google, Bing, mywebsearch, etc,
but when I try to open them, they just time out after a few seconds.

Several websites that I used all the time just won't load. Paypal.com, officedepot.com, usps.com and several more.

I looked in my firewall, but nothing obvious. I checked my INTERNET zones, internet, local internet, trusted zones, restricted sites. Nothing is there that would be blocking the websites. HELP!!!!!!!!
Thank You
Larry B.

There are multiple websites that I cannot connect to, facebook, rottentomatoes, youtube, to name a few. Others seem perfectly fine. A few seem okay, but seem to be running slowly.

This is the case for both my computer (on which I am running Windows 7), which is connected directly to the router, *and* mobile devices which are connected wirelessly.

On my computer I have tried using several different browsers to no avail, but when I used the TOR browser to proxy, I was able to access them.

I apologize if this has been asked, but I haven't been able to find anything this specific.

Thank you.

Hey guys,

I've been trying to figure out this weird issue for a couple of weeks now, but I haven't had any luck. The problem is that I can't access a few key sites, namely microsoft.com and paypal. When I attempt to go to these sites (or any of their sup-pages...such as a support thread on microsoft.com), I get a 'could not find webpage' error in all browsers (chrome, ff, ie, safari, and opera tested so far).

A laptop on the same wireless connection as me can access these sites without any issues, so it's definitely something to do with this particular unit.

Some things I've looked at:

MTU settings are manually set to 1500 in my router
My HOSTS file contains nothing except the default contents with # on the left
I have no firewall installed

The first two are the most common things I find when I search around online for this issue, so I've tried those plenty of times.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help/guidance you can provide!

THANKS!!!

A:Cannot Access Various Websites (Microsoft.com, Paypal, etc.)

I've also found that I can't 'connect to xbox' in Windows 8. Not that it's terribly important, but it IS a Microsoft product and I assumed the two might be linked.

Any thoughts?

I cannot access Paypal tried it in two of the internet browsers Firefox and Internet Explorer both say that the website operation has timed out. IE says its a problem with the DNS server not responding. Then I tried to scan the PC nothing came back now I'm stumped. Paypal works on all the other computers here so I have no clue what to do.

I ran HijackThis. Here is the log:

Hello there, recently I have not been able to access Paypal. I thought the problem was just that, but after trying to log in to Facebook/Twitter, I discovered it wouldn't let me into these sites as well. I suspect it's the same problem. I thought it would be a firewall issue, but it's not blocking any of these sites. I'm very confused as to what is going on.

Here is my HiJack Log.

problem just started today, I have 2 PCs hooked up to a netgear wndr3700 router to a cable modem. All of a sudden I can't get the paypal webpage to come up (internet explorer cannot display the webpage) on either pc hooked to the router wired or wireless (I tried with my iphone and it won't work either on wifi, but connects to paypal using 3g cellular, bypassing my network) I did a search on this site (http://forums.techguy.org/web-email/858146-solved-cant-access-paypal.html) and checked my hosts file and it has just what its supposed to have, identical to the microsoft website, unless I'm not looking at it wrong or something as there is no large list on it. here's a log of one pc, (I also checked the router and there are no blocked sites listed there, but as anything going thru the router is affected I'm wondering how to scan THAT & have yet to try to eliminate it as a possiblilty by connecting a pc directly to the cable modem without it):

PayPal suspended the account of a white-hat hacker on Tuesday, a day after someone used his research into website authentication to publish a counterfeit certificate for the online payment processor.
"Under the Acceptable Use Policy, PayPal may not be used to send or receive payments for items that show the personal information of third parties in violation of applicable law," company representatives wrote in an email sent to the hacker, Moxie Marlinspike. "Please understand that this is a security measure meant to help protect you and your account. We apologize for any inconvenience."
